I got a few that could qualify:

    Azumah Nelson-Pat Cowdell
    Adonis Stevenson-Chad Dawson

I remembered one from early 1984, but Ill leave it for you to mention it lets see if you can remember it,....

Sorry, that wasnt a world title fight.

I agree with you that it was one of the greatest first round kos, however...

Revisionism aside, Mugabi was regarded as the devastating puncher before the first bell rang and Norris had been destroyed by Jackson 7-8 months earlier.

I always enjoyed RJJ vs Montell Griffin.

A pretty great way to avenge your first loss and regain your titles.

Not a huge fan but Tyson vs Spinks was as emphatic a way get the lineal title as it gets. An amazing performance by Mike….Michael not so much.

Juan Meza-Jaime Garza. Garza was the new Danny "Little Red" Lopez of boxing with a 40-0 with 38 kos. Meza was a veteran Mexican slugger who was tough but had been stopped in 6 by the great Wilfredo Gomez and struggled to twice beat journeyman Javier Barajas on points in his last two fights.
Meza gets off the floor to flatten Garza with a monstrous left hook. Garza never recovered going 8-5 subsequently.

Most of them mentioned already. One I remember is Nunn vs Kalamby.

Considering the quality of Kalambay and how good his chin and defence was, this is the best 1st round KO ever in my opinion.

Astonishing result. Nobody could have ever predicted it.
