I predicted Beterbiev very wide UD where Smith would try and run and save punishment, I was wrong and I give Smith a lot of credit for the heart he showed, especially as he was really outmatched. Was a good enjoyable fight, and we should appreciate the fact Beterbiev won't be in his prime for much longer especially as it was a fantastic display from him.

Ref a bit too late to stop the fight. Smith was finished before the 2nd count.

Only one fight for Beterbiev next which is an obvious one. For Smith, I'd like to see him fight either the winner of Buatsi/Azeez, or Yarde. Mbili looks a very interesting fighter, would love to see him against Munguia but I'd be surprised if Munguia even considers taking that fight.

It’s not an excuse, people have been complaining about Beterbiev’s dangerous tactics for a while now.

Beterbiev showed his high ring IQ and criminally underrated boxing ability again tonight. He was very cognizant of not making the mistakes Smith was looking to exploit and he remained alert and disciplined throughout and just broke Smith down systematically.

Once again for all the talk of him supposedly being ''vulnerable'' he fought another big puncher and his very solid beard was on display again and he took some nasty left hooks to the ribs from Smith too.

Smith looks beastly at 175 and he was dangerous from first bell to last and even though he was losing the rounds he was having his share of success and landing with big shots of his own. He's very tough too.

Really looking forward to Beterbiev vs Bivol next. I got Beterbiev stopping him.

Do not break the rules by bending below the waist or turning your back to opponents and you wont get rabbit punched

I was wondering why they didn't interview Smith, but then they showed the replay of that uppercut hitting his Adam's apple. Hot damn. He'll be feeling that awhile.

In fairness to you it was probably a foul. However when a fighter is rocked and all over the place like that typically refs aren't going to call a foul. Maybe they want to see blood just like the fans.

Does it really matter Smith wasn't going to survive.

It was a completely one sided fight. Even ignoring the knockout, which was legit as they come imo, the performance was still excellent. It was a complete outclassing.

I think six years... funny thing is they both captured titles at 175 in Nov. 2017.

    Truly sad

Yeah for sure, that's why he try to cherry-pick on Bivol, and get schooled. It's easy for Canelo, as he knows even when he lost 8+ round, he will get at least a draw. Bivol 12-0, at worst 10-2 him, and win a close 115-113 decision ....
It's easy when you stack everything in your favor.

Anyway not going to argue about stupid thing. Bivol already signed the fight in the Saudi. This is confirmed. It's a 2 fight deal. It's up to Beterbiev now.

Beterbiev can still move, set up punches and never be damaged like you would think, for someone who is going for a KO

They need to stop ducking, its obvious. Thry are folding in half and hes catching em. You dont stop punching because your opponent is ducking. Thats ****ing stupid ****. Also look stop moaning man, Smith got outboxed he was brave but he got slaughtered. And beterbiev is a ****ing tank. Rid your soul of the hate.
