2. Ward can't neutralise him inside with grappling (like Froch).
3. Beterbiev is quick enough and has good enough footwork to stalk him and land shots.
4. Ward isn't iron-chinned

I just complained about Beterbiev's rabbit punches but when it comes to fighting dirty & spoiling, none have mastered the art in recent times quiet like Ward

For a guy who retired so young conveniently he sure talks a lot of sh*t about active fighters like how he would fight Canelo now (when asked a few years back the same question he said no quiet clearly) or that Calzaghe would be a tougher fight than AJ. I mean how delusional do you have to be to say that, a hard jab from AJ would have his midget ass on the canvas

I wasn't rooting for either guy so not sure what I'm coping with. I don't like Beterbiev's style too much, I admit. He's kind of ugly to watch. But I don't mind that he won. I just think Ward is too skilled. Ward had trouble with Krusher cause he had more precision and wasn't a plodder.

 

Beterbiev is a stylistic nightmare for Ward. Wards prides himself on the ability to smother an opponents offence by landing a quick 1-2 then tying them up, only to land a shot or two on the way out of the clinch. Unfortunately for Ward, where he shines so does Beterbiev.
