Anyone who retires undefeated. If you haven't found your peak then it's not time to retire.

Spinks was a great fighter and I'm sure he could have won a lot of fights and made a lot more money if he would have kept going. But he was also an intelligent thoughtful guy and I have to admire him for retiring after his first loss (and it sure was a horrendous one). I assume he reasoned it was better to not risk his marbles anymore and be content with the money he already made.

He had some serious knee problems, and he was a multi miljonair, he did just fine

I saw him beat Briggs live at Atlantic City. Very skilled fighter.

Very true. If you have money, accomplishments, and most importantly your health, its probably the perfect time to retire.

    What does this even mean?
Because two years prior he beat Hearns and a year prior he had the brilliant war with Mugabi.
Hagler was only 32 at the time.

Nah, he clearly didn´t have the drive in him any longer. He looked like crap in his last two fights and couldn´t even motivate himself to move back down to 140.

He was visibly diminished after the Mugabi fight which showed against Leonard.

Yes, but what does "completely shot" mean?
    Past prime?
Because usually the term is used when describing someone like Mike Tyson in 2004 or Danny Williams from 2010 and onward. Fighters whose bodies no longer respond to them.
