Joe Louis vs Elmer Ray

I am going to assume that this would have been around the time of the first Walcott fight.

I think that even at this stage of his career, Louis should be seen as being the favorite, and he woudl probably have found Ray's style better suited to him than Walcott's.

Even so it could end up being a more competitive fight than the public are expecting.

 

Louis fought Walcott in 46&47, Ray was then 36/37?
Louis ko'd Ray in an exhibition in 49.I think he would have enough left to stop Ray whilst he was champ.

 

Elmer grabs his shot gun and says “ I’ll get you, you wascally Wouis “
