I think Loma would smash him like he smashed Rigo. Loma at his weight class of 130lb is unbeatable. Loma beat a natural 147lb in Haney and I think Inoue would think twice fighting him.
No one is unbeatable That being said, Loma would be favored if he was in his prime. But perceptions could change depending on how Inoue does at 126 & possibly at 130 if he decides to go up 1 more weight class As far as being wary of fighting him, if the demand was there & it was realistic the fight will happen. Inoue isn't afraid of a challenge & the Chocolatito might have happened had he not lost to Rungvisai & decided to face Estrada instead of Inoue as he didn't like the money that was offered. Inoue lost before in the amateurs, so a loss by itself doesn't mean much depending on the nature of the loss, & protecting the 0 isn't as big in Japanese boxing as it has become in Western boxing Unfortunately we will never know for sure as this fight will likely never happen
Natural 147 pounder lmfao. No. If that’s true Loma fought a drained weakened Haney. Loma has been at 135 for over half a decade and that was Haneys weight class for most of his career.
Haney had like 72 hours to rehydrate against Lomachenko…totally Unusual. Haney was extremely big and rehydrated in there..let’s not pretend he wasn’t way bigger than Loma. I’d argue Haney could well easily make 154lbs - but he wouldn’t last with his feather chin
Right now you'd have to favour Loma, he's simply more proven and naturally bigger. But I don't think he can compare Rigo to Inoue, they are both very different fighters. Rigo more the natural counter puncher while Inoue while a amazing counter puncher too is for more offensively minded which I think would make him more problematic for Loma than Rigo. Loma's style is incredible at cutting the ring off, creating angles to attack on the front foot, but he's less effective on the back foot due to his short reach which is even shorter than the smaller Inoue's. It's also why he did so well vs Haney another boxer/counter puncher type. But in the end you have to pick Loma here. We have no idea what Inoue would be like at 126 let alone 130, he maybe far less potent at that weight especially against a great like Loma who presents problems he's never had to face up to this point. As to if he'd dominate, hard to say, maybe, maybe not, nobody can say for sure as Inoue is an unknown quantity at that weight.
...Loma at his peak weight class versus Inoue in his 6th weight class. What's the point of the thread again???
Chocolatito didn't want to face Inoue for the money but didn't bother to pursue more by pushing negotiations is a strange one. Plus he didn't get much for the Estrada & Rungvisai fights if I'm not mistaken. On another note Rungvisai is badly missed, he was past it & the promoters then out him in there with the much larger Bam which also makes me remember Bam not being interested in fighting with both Gonzalez & Inoue, what a joke.
My thinking is that Loma has the technical edge but I do feel Inoue is a level above those who have beaten Loma, eg - Salido, Lopez, Haney.
Loma being "featherfisted" is a myth, as he's fighting far bigger opponents than himself. It's harder to knock someone bigger than you out compared with someone smaller, this is obvious. Loma has stopped far bigger opponents - Nakatani, dropped big Commey, KOd naturally bigger Linares. Loma has also hurt and rocked welterweights like Haney and Lopez.
