Slotted in as the co-main event of Tszyu vs. Thurman on March 30th. WBA super lightweight title at stake, 1st defense of Romero. This will be Cruz's first time venturing north of lightweight since 2015.
This reminds me of Hector Luis Garcia / Chris Colbert or Marcos Maidana / Adrien Broner. You have a man (Cruz) who is a professional boxer. He lives and breathes the sport. They you have Romero, a guy who seems to play at boxing. Even though the height and reach distance is daunting, Cruz should rumble right through Romero. Side Note: I clicked the wrong thing in the poll.
The Cinder Block Headed Pitbull is going to beat Romero so violently that he'll have him looking way worse than 77 year old Rollie Fingers when he gets done with him. This content is protected
Kind of surprised Rolly didn't go through and fight Garcia; I would have thought being beaten up by Garcia is more lucrative than being beat up by Cruz.
I think Cruz will stop Romero TKO round 9 with an accumulation of punches. Romero won't be able to cope with the 'Pitbull' style of Cruz. Romero is honestly very average - but gets a lot of strange hype and is well-known for no reason apart from him being a clown.
Pitbull dispatches him (I believe in 3-4 rounds) and gives Rolly what really should be his 4th loss. I really don't understand why Rolly is even a point of discussion....................he's really subpar as a fighter.
I really like this fight I think their styles will create fireworks. I'm expecting a short fight with lots of action
