Artificial and instant deprivation of hearing would certainly put Holyfield at certain disadvantages - much different to growing up and learning to live with and work around a real life hearing loss affliction.

 

A noseless Evander Holyfield is not a pleasant visual image, so I will shake that thought out of my head immediately!

Honestly Mike was mentally broken by the first fight.

But at the same time physically, technically he looked great..... he was holding more than his own at long and mid range lets be honest, thats why Holyfield immediately started roughhousing, diving in and mauling as soon as he saw Tyson move his head and be light on his feet.

Evander invented the whole "Bernard Hopkins, Andre ward style" in the mid 90s when his outrageous muscle mass couldnt uphold his activity levels anymore


Tyson couldnt deal with that, and thats just the way it is.

Was the headbutting dirty? Yes.
Was the mauling ugly? Yes
Were we wishing for an epic battle with a "true winner"? Yes


But was it cheating? No, not if you can get away with it
And was biting the right way to deal with it?
No not at all.


Tyson was a farce post prison, mentally broken, not capable of going the distance and winning a hard fight anymore. Too much money too soon, too many personal problems.
