How is it stupid? If we were talking about a good fighter with movement, sure. But we're talking about Floyd Mayweather. Literally the elite of the elite at it. Of course it's a huge factor. And also, not every fighter struggles with movers, that's not true.

Everyone, every great pressure fighter or puncher i can think of has a harder time looking dominant when the other guy runs and just tries to survive. Thats just what happens.

Tyson Foreman Duran Chavez i dont know who else you want me to name? They all had nights where they looked mediocre against a runner, mover, counterpuncher whatever box you want to put mayweather into.

The guys that REALLY struggled with movers are cement footed guys like Canelo or Trinidad who take far too long to set themselves to punch. Duran is not that.

I like how some of you all using Floyd at his worst vs Duran at his best to justify your choice.

Floyd would give Duran fits. I’d edge Floyd. But like 70/30. Great fight tho.

Floyd, being the elite of the elite, struggled with JLC and Maidana. Duran that fought SRL1 dominates Floyd

Violmar Fernndez who was a flat out runner ended up in a crumpled heap at Duran's feet. Floyd can't keep Duran off and will be there for him at some point. Oh Floyd will have some great moments and such but he'll crumple around the 13th round.

LOL You wouldn't get Floyd in the ring with Duran for a King's ransom. He'd find some excuse or retire again

In all honesty most fans thought Floyd lost his first fights with JLC & Maidana I know I do. Floyd ever get in the ring with Duran ??!!!! Never in a month of Sundays . Look how terrified he was when Margarito walked up to him to politely ask "Why wont you fight me Floyd"? When asked about it Floyd said " Who is Margarito Ive never heard of him, do you know who he is" LOL A wag from the back yelled " But you just met him & he scared you to death " LOL Floyd only fought carefully selected opponents & only in Vegas lol

A lot of Duran fanboys and Mayweather haters here.

SRL made it Duran's fight first time around. I'd expect Mayweather to copy-paste SRL's tactics in the second fight and frustrate and outpoint Duran (even if Duran wasn't prepared).

Mayweather doesn't get enough credit for his discipline and boxing IQ in the ring. I genuinely think Mayweather is one of the only boxers at LW/WW capable of dealing with Duran's offense.

    Mayweather close UD.

At every weight both competed in, in their primes Duran would have Floyd in absolute Hell.

I think Duran and Hearns would be the two worst matchups Floyd would ever experience.

Montreal Duran v Oscar's Floyd, both at 147, I'd have to go with Duran.

Furthermore, give him 90 mins rest after he defeats that Floyd, and he beats Oscar on that same night.

It's a close matchup, but prime for prime I'll still chose Duran.
Most people tend to point out that Mayweather at his best (PBF) could adapt, could smash and such, but focused Duran was exactly like that.

Even at his worst form like in the no mas fight, Duran still showed ability to adapt by trapping Leonard and forcing him into exchanging combinations, Duran can get a close decision for two fights, even when Duran lost to fighters with reach advantages most are close defeats, most.
