Totally accept that Usyk is getting older too. But I wonder if now, after the Wilder wars, the weight fluctuations, the partying, the delaying of the undisputed fight ... now is actually the worst time for Fury to face Usyk (to date?) Basically, what I'm saying is a younger Fury with less wear and tear (and miles on the clock) would have increased his chances in what will likely be a tough fight? He's made it harder for himself, regardless of who you think will win?
Usyk is Fury punishment for all his lies and combinationts. He show up and force Fury to face him and Im pretty sure that fat Gypsy is not happy that he might lose to "small Ukraine Man" who even dont speak good english. For sure Fury would love face Joshua for undisputed 2 times earn gigantic cash not this fella. I hope Oleksander end his journey and win with Fury. That will be best way to end this story. Dont want lazy liar without respect to other become hero od this Era.
There was no need for the fight until the last couple years, Usyk was not a heavyweight when both were in their prime.
Usyk is not at his peak, but Fury is possibly at his nadir; even though he is older, the fact that Usyk has taken much better care of himself will prove decisive IMO.
A lot of bold\anti Fury predictions as usual on here, let’s see how the actual fight goes. Being honest it’s hard to gauge how the fight is going to go as one is a career Heavyweight and the other was a career Cruiserweight who has moved to Heavyweight to dare to be even greater which is applaudable. The fight with Ngannou has to be a blessing in disguise as that version of Fury loses to Usyk, however after all the hatrid and crap he has received Fury should be very well motivated and training like he should be for a fight of this magnitude. They even only have one common opponent in Chisora who Fury beat easier in three fights than Usyk did in his fight but we all know that means nothing and it’s what happens when both Fury and Usyk get in the ring and actually fight rather than all the BS and bold opinions being spouted on here so often. Should Usyk win he will be up there on the ATG list and be held in very high regard by all, should Fury win the haters will still hate on him and look to the next fighter to beat him, even if Fury wins Undisputed he still loses and he knows this himself.May we have a clear winner and without any controversy!
May the best man win but be wary of writing Fury off. He has proven too many wrong, too many times before.
I think the worst time for Fury was actually the period of the mma fight. If he'd fought Usyk then he'd probably be overconfident and possibly even underprepared. But he got a wake-up call and now is looking pretty lean for him these days and seems focused.
Yep that is what I am thinking as well. Ngannou bringing him down a peg could be exactly what he needed.
Agreed, and I'm glad that Fury's plan to age Usyk out backfired. Fury's biological age is almost certainly higher than Usyk's at this point, and his fading was masked by the fact that he's been facing people more shot than him (Whyte, Chisora, even Wilder 3). The Ngannou fight was supposed to be a bit of fun on the side and turned into a gruelling, confidence-denting ordeal that finally revealed something of where Fury is at these days. Sure, he took the fight lightly, but I don't believe at this stage that he can get his body to make a miracle comeback like it did after his breakdown. Usyk, on the other hand, look very good to me against Dubois.
Fury waiting around has not done himself any favours. That said he seems focused for the fight and I expect to see a much much better Fury than the one against Ngannou. Hopefully Usyk murks him regardless.
