    1) Long guard with strong wrestling like Foreman and Carnera.
    1) Crossguard.
    2) Locche.

For me it has to be prime Lomachenko. I always thought that fighters with a tight, high guard, sacraficed a lot of movement and defensive moves. He is the best I have ever seen at combing a safe, rigid european guard, with incredible movement at the waist and of the feet.
I do think Canelo has underrated defence also, hes never really been truly hurt - he is very responsible. I really enjoyed Michael Watsons defence too, surprised not to see him mentioned. Oh and Marlon Starling too!

Sergio Martinez had defense that was genuinely fun to watch. Mike Tyson’s head movement was great too.

Counter punching is the best and most entertaining defense if you have the speed and timing to make it effective.
Eventually the other guy doesn't want to throw because he's getting hit every time.

The kind of defense where a fighter can be aggressive while still being defensively responsible and using clever head movement on the attack.

Pretty much fighters who can dodge punches up close or on the inside like Roberto Duran, Jose Napoles, Salvador Sanchez, Mike McCallum, Dwight Muhammad Qawi.

I like very much JCC's defence, that at the same time is offensive.

The most fun to watch is a far cry from best defense. So, I go with Roy Jones and his use of otherworldly reflexes instead of technique. Hands down, standing in front of his opponent and making them miss was fun to watch. But, as we know, once the reflexes went away, the knockouts came to visit regularly.

James Toney because he actually had 3 different types of defense: The Philly shell, the low roll to completely evade and counter, and the ride the shot and immediately counter. This is one reason I think Toney was probably the best defensive fighter ever, he had multiple defensive styles which he used together seamlessly and he worked it into an offense counter attack.
