Why the hell is Lenier Pero in WBA's rankings list?

I took a look at WBA's rankings list over the past one year and found one very astonishing entry - Lenier Pero, who had been ranked as high as number four at one point.

I have one question for them - Who is Lenier Pero? When I looked his record on boxrec, it said he has fought ten times. Not one name on his resume sounds remotely familiar to me.

I would also want to be ranked in WBA's list, do I stand a chance? No fights yet, but there are a lot of cans in my refrigerator.

Good amateur and his pro win over Vykhryst is pretty impressive.

Sanctioning bodies rankings in general are not to be taken seriously though.

    Especially the WBA

Did you even bother to research him? Multiple times medalist in amateur tournaments and has a very good pro win over Vykhryst.

Cassius Chaney and Jonathan Guidry are worse than Pero.

Should a single win against a journeyman put a boxer in the top ten list?

Any big boxing fan should know that the WBA is a complete f*****g shambles of an organisation.

Nevertheless, I think Pero is a solid fighter and a fair prospect - whom he comes from the famous Cuban boxing school. Although, I agree he defo shouldn't be in the top 10 ATM.

I think he will start showing why he deserves to be the top 10 in the next couple years though.

Not a single mention of the WBA Fedelatin Heavy title?
Pero has fought 4 times with that belt on the line. His team are paying those sanctioning fees and thus the ranking. That´s all there is to it.
Pero vs Arias: WBA Fedelatin Heavy (vacant)
Oh, it was vacant? Why? Who are the top contenders for the belt, are there any rankings? I doubt the WBA has any answers.

You have to remember the WBA is maybe the most corrupt organisation in the whole sport and have Manual Charr are their secondary champion. They could decide to rank Danny Williams tomorrow and I would not shocked.

Probably being groomed for a title shot after the Usyk Fury fight when the belts will be dispersed. Ranked that highly after 10 fights? Joke

Don't go looking for sense and logic with WBA. You may as well go searching for the Holy Grail.
