    Hide would tower over Baer and have solid reach over him. I think he would annihilate Max Baer.

    The best version of Herbie Hide is NOT beating the best version of Max Baer! In my view, Max wins by KO.

    Max Baer had an iron chin and was a devastating puncher. Herbie Hide also had a decent punch, but his chin was very, very shaky.

    Baer destroys him, knocks Hide out brutally.

    I can see justifications for picking either man. Baer had world class success, huge power and possibly the better chin. His was also a brutal puncher, impressive physical specimen and appeared to have better movement on film. “ Smart” money is on Bear but there is no “ safe” money here
