This version of Spence can't beat Crawford. I'd like to see him retire tbh.

    1. Retire
    2. Announce comeback a year or two later
    3. Fight a few tomato cans
    4. Call out Crawford
    5. Crawford says lol
    6. Spence says he duckin' me!
    7. The end.

Where did Tim Tszyu touch you mate?

You're obviously still traumatised by it.

I lost so much respect for Spence and his team.
There is no way he and his team didn't see that Spence was looking like garbage in camp. He never should have fought that night and people will of course say it was a lot of money... But but I though Spence was about legacy and belts, not money.

The cateract excuse? Are you serious? Why wait 6 months after a fight? And for sure a doctor would have checked him prior to the fight for it so that is BS.

It's funny that he was calling Crawford's record "smoke and mirrors" when it is Spence that now looks like a protected fraud. There are always gonna be questions now because he got completely wiped out and was made to look basic. Team Spence grossly mislead the public and put his health in great danger and that is something I can't look past.

Spence is finished. Hopefully he has enough cash in the bank to retire.

The calls for retirement are kinda silly, Errol is 33 and hasn't taken hardly any punishment inside the ring (outside is another matter). He lost to the best possible opponent he could lose to, someone that is either 1,2,3 regardless of division.

There's still very few opponents at WW or JMW that I think beat Spence. As long as he stays away from a killer like Boots and Crawford at 147, I think he can fight 3-4 more years. There's no one at JMW I'd pick against him except maybe little twin (and they're never gonna fight), and there's no one at WW I'd pick against him other than Crawford and Boots.

Spence is still elite (pending seeing him in the ring against someone in the top 10 to measure if he's slipped or not)

Surprised Conor Henn isn't calling him out. Even on his worse night Spence would take Mathroom's golden goose out

Good decision. This rematch would have served no one and would have put Spence at further risk.

I wish he would retire. There's not much left for him and he made a mint fighting Crawford. Enjoy your time.

His fans have to keep spinning the tale that he's ruined, a shell off his former self, so shot he couldn't beat anyone decent now and so should retire. That way they can tell themselves if only it had been prime Spence the fight would have been very different.

Now Bud is moving up, he could easily pick up titles again, Spence/Ennis is a fight I'd like to see.

I'm one of his fans and I think that's a ridiculous line of thinking. He lost to Crawford, mainly because Crawford was actually (and surprisingly to me) physically stronger. Spence ain't been in with anyone that was actually stronger.

Crawford always comes out ahead. I don't think either of them was at peak most likely, given age and wear & tear, but TC put a lot of separation between them and settled that question for all time.

Having said that, I *do* think Spence likely is finished. Between the car accident and the Crawford beating, he's putting himself in harm's way for far less money than he made to fight Crawford. There was no market for a rematch and Spence/Ennis sounds like a terrible idea for Spence. He has had a great career and probably still would be top 10 at 154, but I'm tired of seeing these guys get pummeled late career and end up extremely punchy.

You're clearly one of the sensible ones. It crazy how Spence has gone from slightly overrated in my opinion to now being really underrated. Yes he got schooled by Bud who was a horrible style for him, counter puncher vs pressure fighter but that doesn't mean everything Spence did before was meaningless. He's arguable the best welterweight now that Bud has moved up.

People bring up the car crash quite often but they seem to forget that he had two fights after that, before facing Crawford.
To me, he didn´t look broken. He just looked himself. However, I don´t mean to downplay the severe beating he took from Crawford.
And there is a case for Spence being punch drunk before that fight.

He could be fine if given time to recover, or Crawford could have been the nail in the coffin for him. I guess we will see eventually.
