morales was 40-0 something before losing to barrera in their 2nd fight which i thought was a robbery.. pretty sick if you would look at his resume by that time and how he fights and still come up undefeated
I will. Marciano's record is a hell of a lot more impressive than he gets credit for by a lot of people. "Everyone was old or no good." Heh, nope.
foreman 40-0-0 (37 KO's i believe) Foreman was looking unstoppable, similar to tyson and beat some of the top heavyweights of all time, foreman and norton, in brutal fashion.
Of course the general consensus is that he lost the first fight to Barrera; so that shortens that streak a bit, or at least takes a bit of the credibility away from it.
I'll throw in Carlos Zarate for good measure: Started his career 52-0, went 23 KO wins in a row before his first decision win, and then 28 KO wins after that before running into Gomes. Not the best competition, but a damn fine KO/win record all the same.
Tyson for me because even though it was shorter lived than many, most the time, he didn't just beat opponents; he annihilated them. He was undisputed, and taking on all comers as well. For the brief time he reigned he never really protected it.
I was going to say Zarate, good call mate, didn't think he would've been mentioned yet. Though for the standard of opposition, I think the most impressive is probably Sugar Ray Robinson. Duran went to 72-1 when he beat Leonard in 1980, the loss being to Esteban deJesus in 1972, so he's up there too, as is Chavez.
Vitali Klitschko-- lol might as well mention him. He was WBO heavyweight champion of the world 26-0 26 KNOCKOUTS... most in first 2 rounds. Andrey
Against who? He never fought anybody, Victor Oganov had that record are we going to call him impressive to?
