It hurts right now just thinking about it & it was many years ago I caught a shot to the liver, It paralyses you, you cannot function That was a legit KO in my book

    fake? get ****ed

look at the hit. That landed clean and he was open. You try taking that from a World Class Boxer. Conditioned or not. Harder to recover from a perfectly placed and executed body shot than a head shot.

Oscar had a granite chin, not a granite liver.

It wasn't a dive, but he definitely made a "business decision" to not get back up when he could've at least tried to. His immediate post-fight reaction was completely inauthentic.

You know, when I watched this fight, I thought virtually the same thing. A little bit too convenient that they were partners after that. Still, I’ve never been hit with a liver shot so please take my comments with a grain of salt but it seems others who take the same shot are down much more worse.

I think a dive is far less worse than a fixed fight. A fixed fight can sometimes involve a dive but a dive doesn't always involve a fix.
If somebody pretends he is more hurt than he is I suppose you could say that is a dive but it still means the punches of the opponent were in some way too intimidating and therefore it's a legitimate win. We will never know if somebody was exaggerating how hurt they were where if somebody could really continue.

Bernard Hopkins is a legendary very intelligent boxer and from what I could tell he hit Oscar right on the liver and notorious knockout spot. I don't see any reason for the conspiracy theories And as far as we know nobody can prove anything.

You'd always have to wonder why someone would pretend to be hurt and lose on purpose-Doesn't seem it is a very common thing.

I love Bhop and hate conspiracy theories but there are a few indications that something was fishy.
Listen to what is said in the corner before the Ko "this is gonna be my round" as if he had bet on it.
Also naazim richardson blatantly yelled bodyshot bodyshot right before the KO, another coincidence.

Then you have the fact that they went into business right after...

I would say there is like a 20-30% chance of it being a dive.

No, I think he was actually trying his hardest and Bernard was carrying him a little bit. As soon as Bernard sat down on his shots....................game over. The good Brother Nazim was calling for the body shot because he knew Oscar would be weak to it because of the size difference.

If the shot didn't hurt, then you didn't take a shot to the liver. It hurts like hell, almost like electrocution.

I guess I was exaggerating a bit. Of course it hurt but the pain of the shot was nothing of note really, but then my breathing stopped and I couldn´t move. My legs stopped working and I couldn´t speak.

It's usually kind of a double whammy as the shot impacts the liver and the lungs. If it catches you at a bad time it knocks the wind out of you as well. I got kicked there and it was something I will never forget.

Maybe I got kinda lucky the last time, didn´t really get my liver all that much.
All in all, I have been fortunate to take only a handful of livershots over the years.
