    Round 1

Cortés with an exaggerated high guard, elbows at his nips, thrusting in 1-2s aggressively. Chevalier looming large, unhurried, jabbing down at Cortés in doubles. Fair number of clinches as they feel each other out.

    10-9 Cortés, close

    Round 2

Cortés is staying in Chevalier's chest, pecking in with a 1-2 and changing it up on the inside with chopping blows as they fall together into clinches. Chevalier with desperate poke jabs, doing nothing to hold Cortés off. Chevalier pushed into the ropes repeatedly and perhaps mildly hurt a few times. Hard to tell as his facial expression is impassive.

    10-9 Cortés

    20-18 Cortés

Wow, going by their records I would never peg Cortés as the guy with the 55% kayo rate and Chevalier the one that has 80%.

Cortés fighting like a puncher and Chevalier like a ...puta.

Apparently at the start of the fight, live betting odds had Cortés a -550 fave; now -1000

    (Chevalier was a +375 underdog, now +500)

This seemed odd, as Chevalier had the belt. They also introduced him first. Any idea why?

    Round 3

Cortés has Chevalier floundering on the ropes or in the corner every half-minute or so, for several uncomfortable seconds at once. Chevalier has no answer for him - just standing pat upright, flailing his upper body around while getting wailed on, unable to escape, counter or clinch effectively. Late in the round Cortés really starts digging in on him with both hands, causing Chevalier to duck between the ropes. Nothing but pathetic defensive jabs and pocket shoeshines from Chevalier. Corner should save him soon.

    10-9 Cortés

    30-27 Cortés

    Round 4

Cortés is stepping in confidently, blasting Chevalier with line drive lead rights on the head, giving him no respect walking him down but still keepig up a responsible defense on the way in, catching and parrying shots on his palms. Chevalier begins to skate around popping a jab. Cortés catching them on his left wrist like a sword's crossguard, forearm parallel to his body. Chevalier hurt with a looping body shot. Chevalier chased yet again into the ropes, hammered upon, flailing, c'mon corner...finally they save his ass.

    TKO4!!
