As much as I dislike all the controversy concerning scorecards, I must say that this type of talk is common amongst those that make it into the upper echelon of the sport.

It's a shame that Robinson and Monzon are not around to teach Canelo a lesson, but if he believes he is the greatest Mexican boxer of all time why doesn't he head north a few pounds and fight Benavidez?

Based on what, Bivol could do it in a mismatch. Floyd already did it. Canelo would just be fighting a fleet footed James Toney

Based on that he never did it. The highest he ever weighed was 151 against Cotto and he wasn't moving the same. He was getting punched easier than in most of his other fights.

He beat Cotto. pfp Floyd is superior to Canelo and already he beat him too. Floyd beat the bigger guy. Canelo lost to Bivol

Many modern boxers - and boxing fans - are ignorant about past greats, and this is just further evidence of that unfortunate phenomenon.

I don't think Floyd has the frame to be successful at 160 or 168. That's not a knock on Floyd, but he isn't built like that.

No he doesn't, stylistically he just beats Canelo at the same size. Speculation based on what happened

Different times and different eras. Robinson beats him, 50/50 with Monzon.

With Vegas judges it isn't out of the realms of possibility.

SRR would fight him at the weight that Canelo fought Floyd, not 168. Yes I know Robinson fought at LWH but in his fights with LaMotta he weighed 145. He was a welterweight that fought at MW formthe money. Prime for prime he's 145-150.

Canelo wasn't even the best MW of this era.. he was a juiced up cash cow who was 4 rounds up on the cards before the bouts even started against GGG first two..

Head north? They are in the same division and Canelo still won't fight him. LOL

Clenelo would have been chief towel boy for SRR and Monzón.
