Against Wladimir Klitschko he was dropped and well behind on any unbiased cards. Against Whyte he was like bambi on ice.

Just because Wilder was contained vs Parker don't forget Parker has a better chin than AJ which showed in his fight with Ruiz while Joshua was hurt in both fights even the rematch where he ran the whole time.

Difference here is he can't box N'Gannou from the outside or clinch effectively when he's hurt.

I know Joshua outshone Fury vs. Wallin but I think Wallin bottled it. Watch Joshua vs. Wallin back Joshua still looks very open to the left hook.

It was a left hook here that hurt Joshua, and there's no way he'd be able to try and tie N'Gannou up like that, it was a left hook from Whyte that hurt Joshua.

I don't know how to time stamp but look how open to a left hook Joshua is vs Wallin but Wallin is too scared and flustered to capitalise on it.

Check the highlights at 1:40 the end of round 5, he's so open to the left hook, he did the same thing just a little bit earlier and Wallin sort of catches him with a straight left but a stronger puncher who stands their ground and bangs the left hook in there is going to put him to sleep.

Joshua made Wallin quit cause he knew Wallin couldn't hurt him. Threw caution away and ate what Wallin had, to land his punches. Instead of dancing around to a life and death win like Fury.

Really, the key to the fight is Ngannou's left hook.

That's Joshua's Achilles Heel. Whyte hurt him with a left. Wlad hurt him with a left. Ruiz hurt him with the left.

And Ngannou landed the left hook as a counter over Fury's extended right and put him down.

If Ngannou catches Joshua with a hard left hook high on the head, all bets are off.

If Ngannou can't effectively land the left hook, Joshua likely coasts to an easy win.

There's definitely a lack of context in the OP if you ask me - but who ever let context get in the way of a good narrative?

 

Basically you just said Joshua looked worse against all mutual opponents except for two...................but let's not count those two

Ngannou vs. Fury was what it was solely because of Fury. (he was sloppy, out of shape, not taking Ngannou seriously, he's not a fearful puncher and basically already semi retired).

Any boxer that is a moderately big hitter will likely have Ngannou in Hell. And saying Joshua can't outbox Ngannou from the outside is kinda silly. Ngannou has not shown an ability to box with anyone elite. Joshua has shown against multiple guys he's capable of this

 

Fury did far better against Wlad and better against Whyte although I do think Dillian was somewhat cooked after so many brutal wars.

Joshua smoked Wallin who gave Fury all kinds of problems. At no point in the rematch did Ruiz hurt AJ, I don’t know what you were watching.

At the end of the day, styles make fights. I believe Fury to still be the superior fighter and I back him to beat AJ if they ever fight. The Ngannou fight is intriguing but Francis is the clear underdog. If he wins it will be a major upset.

 

You provide two common opponents, without any context around the fights, and then ignore the third, Wallin, because he doesn't fit the narrative. It's a bit of an odd post to me.

 

Ngannou can not give Joshua any room,he has to be on him from the first bell and not allow Joshua to get in a rhythm,more than likely we will know in the first couple of rounds if Ngannou is able to achieve this or not. Both fighters have the power to hurt each other but I think it will be Joshua who will be more cautious and try to box his way into the fight rather than looking to mix it up like I expect Ngannou to do.
