I was watching Lewis Vs holyfield 2 and expected them to appear alot quicker and athletic them some of the heavy weight fights now. Which it was. But then it took my mind back to Klitschko haye. The movement and speed in this fight for a heavyweight contest is impressive? Even though not a great deal happened in the fight. Anyone else agree. Definitely not slow plodding heavyweights
Thanks yes I was thinking that really sharp and fluid for such a big guy. Left me thinking Klitschko could be Lewis. Unless that was just a sluggish Lewis?
Of course he could beat Lewis. Despite Vitalis poor guard and weak skin he almost did aswell. The thing is that Lewis and Vitali both preyed on short and small opposition but both exposed eachother when the size became similar. The Same happened for many other Super heavyweights. Today we have more big guys than ever. And the trend keeps going upwards.
Yes from watching both fights wladimir appears to have quicker feet. And punches. I only rewatched the Klitschko fight to compare as I thought Lewis would be alot quicker or I thought I rememberd he was.
Welcome to the club! I once compared Lewis style with Charles Martin. To my eyes they are similar in speed and style. Please do and give your honest opinion here When I did that, it was not popular here I guarantee, But just put the names aside and do a fare comparison of the fundamentals.
Lewis was a lot less plodding and slow than you think, he was standing off at the edge of his range against Holufield who had traded most of his own movility for extra muscle and lost some due to age. Lewis was very athletic dont get it twisted. Tyson vs tucker was a very athletic fight in that regard with tucker having great legs and reflexes, actually ducking under tysons overhand right and throwing triple left hooks. Tyson obviously was ridiculously athletic for his build.
Wlad was quicker than Lennox, yes. And hit even harder than Lewis did. But Lennox was more versatile offensively and had better adaptability during the fights compared to Wlad. Both were great fighters
