The poor guy still hasn’t got over that absolute shut out of Wilder followed by the No Mas by Wallin that happened in December.

In all fairness at the tail end of Tua's career

As much as I enjoyed watching Golota's career unfold, I don't think a reasonable case can be made for his induction into the Hall.

If you were going to attempt to make such an argument, I think it would have to be predicated on the idea that he had an entertaining style and was involved in several high profile entertaining fights, where one would need to rely on his unfulfilled potential to make any type of case.

I don't believe Golota deserves induction, but I still maintain his life story would make for an exceptional boxing bio movie.

He would likewise have a "better" case had he gotten the not against both Byrd and Ruiz.

I have to be honest, Golota is always the guy who comes to mind for me when this question comes up. He had the physical tools, pity he was so unstable mentally. On a good night, man he could fight!

I feel the same way. Remembering that period [tho young] the bottom line is that Golota should have a win against Bowe, but he hasn't and it's on him. Ibeabuchi head to head at his peak is one thing, but basically he wasted his opportunity. Mike Tyson even. If ... Fury had only. Etc etc. Solis could have been this or that.

If a fighter gets injured or has health issues, eg. Joe Mesi. Or is in a car accident or something beyond their control. Then they can get a pass on discipline/commitment over time. But IMO, if any sportsperson wants an enduring legacy they need to make the most of their opportunities and really not waste the times when the window is open to make their mark in the sport.

So Golota goes down as being one of the best heavyweights not to hold a title, but it is exactly what it is.

Agreed, I felt he won both fights and was incredibly unlucky to not get the nod in at least one of them.

Thanks for answering. That boxing bio movie idea is an interesting one. If only Hollywood could pick it up. Last question: How likely do you believe that such a boxing bio film will ever get made about Big Andrew?

I had Golota beating Byrd 115-113, and Golota beating Ruiz 114-111 iirc.

It was one of my all time favourites every punch was a power shot thrown with vicious intent, it was as good a display of granite chin versus granite chin, they both took some absolute bombs and just kept going.
It’s one of my go to fights after watching a really bad fight.
