Wilder should fight a young and hungry lion next like Wlad did when he fought Joshua

I’d also still love to see the Ruiz fight. Can’t believe that didn’t happen. PBC and WBC dereliction of duty not making that happen.

Wilder loses once to a Top Flight heavyweight and people are calling for his retirement. Don't you guys realize there's not enough fights these days we need every single one that we can get LOL

So what if he's 39? Almost all of the top heavyweights are ancient anyway.

And I agree 100% with the op, that is how it has traditionally been in boxing, passing the torch and all that. Wilder, if he is in fact finished, is a good testing ground for up and coming heavyweights.

He's way too shot for that. He's gun-shy, his reflexes are gone and his power isn't there anymore. Putting him in with someone hungry could backfire bad.

    He'd need to fight a middle-aged, well-fed lion first.

The torch? Wilder was never the main guy and what the hell would he be passing on he got out-classed by Parker, does that mean he passed the torch to Parker then?

Maybe I wasn't very clear, I didn't mean passing the torch as in "the man" so to speak, but just being there as a top heavy weight at one time who is now a testing ground for the up and coming heavyweights.

No way Parker is on Wlad's 2017 level. Good honest pro and all that but never an atg.
