Do you expect Thurman to be on his bike all night against Tszyu?

Yes, I expect so. Boxing from the outside and moving. Jab + move + jab + move + move + jab... that's what I expect from him.

Even if everything you say about thurman were true, it would be even worse if we apply the same standard to Zoo. But you forgot to do that.

This is the definition of a cherry pick.

    Shot? Check
    Overweight? Check
    Inactive? Check
    Former champ? Check
    Recognizable name? Check

It’s only a cherrypick if the guy is dodging other fighters with better credentials.

At the time the fight was made I didn’t see anybody putting their hand up, except possibly Lubin but his team ended negotiations.

It’s not exactly Tszyu’s fault all the other guys sleep with the lights on.

Will that rhythm frustrate Tim? And while doing that can Keith time Tim with some straight rights and stop him in his tracks?

This will be his plan, imho.

If he succeeds or not... I can't tell. Especially when he has been inactive for so long. I have no clue about current thurman's state.

I wonder if Tim will be confused by Keith's movement, if he finds himself unable to land clean on a guy with the kind of footwork Keith possesses. But I agree Keith's state is a big unknown, we don't know what kind of condition he is. But if he makes it a track meet, if he sticks and moves maybe he could win a decision or at least keep it close.

I have no doubt that Thurman at his peak would win at least a wide UD to Zoo. But his peak is gone since long ago. All we have is a big question mark. We will see the fight night.

Thurman is 35, that bike has only been out of the garage once in 5 years. Would of liked to have seen him get a tuneup first.

There's a difference between record and resume. Yes, Thurman, Danny, and Porter all had/have good records at WW even if they took a couple of losses. By numerical standards it would appear those three were GOOD WWs and CHAMPIONS.

...But, if youre a champion during an era with no other good fighters it doesn't make you an ATG.

When Thurman finally did step up he lost to a 40 year old faded ATG. He was also almost stopped by two literal journeymen. ---Most importantly--- Thurman's only notable wins in his entire career were the SD narrow wins over Danny and Porter. Literally ZERO other relevant wins in terms of "legacy". That matters.

Danny was an accomplished JWW and was impressive at the weight. He did lose to Herrera (at 140) but got the nod (robbery) before going to WW. ---Most importantly--- Danny has zero relevant wins at WW. A fair amount of people also felt Lamont Peterson was robbed against Danny. The point is, Danny had a strong run at 140 but did NOTHING at 147. Even if he was a champion at 147 he is likely one of the division's worst champions in recent years.

Shawn Porter has the best resume out of Thurman, Danny, and himself but its also unremarkable. Shawn beat Malignaggi, Broner, and Devon Alexander in addition to Danny Garcia. He also went tooth and nail with Spence.

Keep in mind none of Broner, Malignaggi, or Devon were WW champs during the last WW era (~2007-2014) when there were ATGs, 1st ballot HOFers, and several WW divisional fighters featured monthly on P4P lists for YEARS.

I dont believe any of Keith, Danny, or Shawn would be champion or even top contenders during the last WW era. NONE of them have legacy defining wins that suggest otherwise.

I didnt say they wouldnt beat SRR and Floyd. I said Thurman, Porter, and Danny wouldve been underdogs - and probably NEVER champion - during the most recent "golden era" at WW.

Thurman and Danny dont beat ANY of Floyd, Manny, Mosley, Bradley, Cotto, Maidana, or Margarito. Porter might win 1 or 2.

I just think Keith and Danny especially but also Shawn to a lesser extent were more PBC media projects than top WW champions.

Please note that I DID NOT include Spence with them because I believe Spence DOES compete and win a lot in 2007-2014. The same is true for Crawford.

Thurman does have the chance to change the narrative against Tszyu though and I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong if Keith surprises. Keith has been weak to the body against Lopez, Collazo, and Manny. Do not see how Tszyu doesnt expose that and make major problems to the body for Keith

Zoo is in the middle of his career not the end like Thurman. And Zoo trying to get Jermell and is actively taking the best fights. Zoo also said he wants Crawford which is a good indication he wont have a career like Keith, Danny, and Shawn.

He’ll give it a shot for 3 or 4 rounds and then fight to not get embarrassed.
