Tyson Fury came to fight MMA fighter Ngannou in terrible condition. His spare tire was more apparent and his body was softer (lacking muscle) even than in previous fights. He deserved to lose to a boxing novice, although the judges bailed him out.

His weakness made the sport of boxing look terrible.

But Anthony Joshua today did what top heavyweights are supposed to do, and redeemed the sport of boxing.

Everybody who said fire is the test of gold and did not give up on Joshua completely must feel pretty good now.

None of these fights should have happened in the first place.

I agree, if Joshua would of lost or got knocked out in there it would of probably ruined boxings credibility forever. Anthony Joshua tonight just proved that elite level boxing can't be played with. Ngannou almost died in there, it was almost bittersweet because no man wants to see anyone get seriously hurt. It was almost too easy the way Joshua dominated Ngannou, he knocked him down with the first punch he landed and didn't even break a sweat.

True, and it was Tyson Fury's idea to avoid Usyk and fight Ngannou instead for some easy money.

Fury went easy on his old friend. While AJ went all out.

Looks like AJ didn't get the memo.

Yeah, Joshua showed the truth about what’s going on. Showed what’s supposed to happen when a mma fighter boxes a boxer. What went on in the Fury fight I don’t quite understand lol.

AJ is the man. Sent Ngannou to the spirit realm. Fury looked like he shat himself.

Was the 0-1 MMA fighter the fire in that analogy? I'm not sure I understand it completely.

Awesome KO by AJ. Totally agree with Eddie that Joshua is now the #1 HW. I'm glad he's back, HW has been stagnant. I remember it was exciting when there was this little Ukrainian ****er hopping around, can't remember his name. Anyway, Joshua is the clear #1 now after his dominant KO. Fury may as well not even fight him now that Joshua has beaten Francis.

    Joshua > Francis > Fury

    just like

    Zhang > Joyce > Park...wait wtf

I knew AJ would take Ngannou out early with a brutal KO.

Ngannou was made to look way better than he is by an unmotivated and out of shape Fury who is clearly way past his best.

I fear after seeing that the bottom falls out again and he gets injured before facing Usyk. But at least they have Hrgovic as a hot standby to step in.

Its amazing how francis was never really wobbled or dropped in all his MMA bouts, including taking kicks to the head. But AJ shut his lights off easily. Just shows the difference in punching power.
