He sizes up situations brilliantly. Then he has the skills to execute a game plan based on what's happening.

Watch his fight with Nino Valdez, a legit heavyweight and much bigger. What would you expect the smaller Moore to do, probably box, right? Stay away, pick his spots, etc.

Moore came forward and made the fight, taking the initiative and raking the bigger man with shots before clinching and spinning his opponent. HE was the aggressor, not the big guy, who couldn't time the rushes of his smaller, more nimble opponent.

Not many would have the boxing intellect and savvy and toughness to keep that up and win.

Highly inventive and made excellent use of his vast experience.

He reportedly constantly maneuvered Nino Valdez so that the sun was always in his eyes.

    That's crafty.

The Ol' Mongoose was top notch at glass blowing, woodwork, embroidery and the ancient Japanese art of origami. He was indeed crafty. On a side note, in his 40s the man was brilliant in the ring. His use of angles, treachery and combinations was fantastic.
