Of course Miller is better than Washington since he battered and stopped him

    Martin Bakole

    Frank Sanchez

    + maybe Dubois

    + maybe even Jalolov

    because it's 2024.

Wins in years past are fading in relevance ... Ruiz and Chisora need something recent to be top 10.

What critique, you just spew insults and excuses when top contenders you fanboy refuse to fight him.

You should be critiquing Fury, Joshua, WIlder, Parker and the rest for refusing to fight him.

If Derek Chisora is Top 10, then it means that Derek Chisora is no longer the gatekeeper as most forums called him.
For any boxer to advance from gatekeeper status to Top 10 status, he needs a better win (or a few better wins) than Gerald Washington on points.
That on points is also an important item because Gerald has lost 5 times by knockout, and this is his first defeat on points against Derek Chisora.
This is Gerald's third straight loss, and he has not won in professional boxing since 2019; 5 years!
Suma summarum Derek Chisora is not Top 10.

Well Whyte knocked Chisora out. Dubois dominated Miller who I believe would beat the hell out of Chisora from Washingthon fight. Wilder KO'd Ortiz twice (yes it was a few years ago), and say what you want but Ortiz is clearly better than current Chisora.

You try to say Chisora is still not so past his best by placing him at top-10. But his fights vs alcoholic Fury and totally shot Gerald Washington say otherwise.

First off what has Hrgovic done to warrant all these shots? A dubious win and nothing else - he’s not some big bad boogeyman who has beaten stellar opposition.

When should Fury have fought him? When has he ducked Hrgovic? The only man he’s avoided is Usyk who last time I checked has 3 belts and is way more qualified than Hrgovic.

Why would Wilder have fought him? He was WBC champion and Hrgovic was not ranked with them. More recently he fought Parker and lost - when has he ducked Hrgovic?

Joshua vs Hrgovic may just happen next. As for Parker he just fought Zhang and Wilder who are both much more dangerous than Hrgovic.

Now did guys dodge Hrgovic before the Zhang fight? Yes, Ortiz turned it down as did Parker. Were those ducks? Yes, absolutely. Does that mean Hrgovic walks through these guys? No, he’s done nothing to suggest that.

You raise valid points about Parker previously turning down the fight, but why bring up Fury and Wilder who had 0 reason to ever fight Hrgovic.

Where did I say that? Again misquoting me - my point was because fighter A supposedly ducks fighter B doesn’t mean they would dog walk them. Example A being Spence vs Crawford when Terence was accused of ducking multiple times. Didn’t matter on the end.

As for Ortiz Hrgovic would have obliterated that version of him. The 2018 version that fought Wilder would have given him lots of trouble, not sure he would have won but Hrgovic would not have easily beaten him.

For context, Boxrec has him at 18th and the IBO have him at 16th. He's not in the top 10 according to Ring or TBRB. So it's probably safe to say that he's a top 20 level fighter, but not a top 10 level fighter.

In terms of who outranks him, the consensus between Boxrec, IBO, Ring and TBRB is as follows:

Definitely in the top 10 (All 4 agree):
    Fury, Joshua, Parker, Usyk, Zhang

Almost certainly in the top 10 (3 out of 4 agree):
    Dubois, Kabayel, Sanchez

Probably in the top 10 (2 out of 4 agree):
    Anderson, Hrgovic, Joyce

    Fringe top 10 (1 out of 4):
    Bakole, Gassiev, Ngannou, Wallin, Wilder

So there are 11 fighters who at least 2 of the 4 organisations rank in the top 10. None of these are Chisora.
There are 16 fighters who at least 1 of the 4 organisations rank in the top 10. None of these are Chisora.

Dubois, Sanchez, Bakole and Wilder are all clearly still above Chisora. WTF are you smoking?

Interesting that you call the Chisora victory meaningless whilst also arguing Chisora is one of the ten best heavyweights in the world.

Straight forward, unbiased (not using hyperbolic comments & bad analogies) statistical analysis using quality data. Unusual for this forum.
Hope you post more often. Curious, do you have any quantitative or STEM background?

The OP put good effort into his post. But he used hyperbole too much. And Chisora #10, at this point, is absurd.

Better than the OPs for many reasons. For starters 1) no top 10 Chisora, 2) Filip over Zhang, etc.
