I do hate rapists. I apologise to you for that, I guess? Yeah, no.

Why would I hate him? I’m posting about his resume, accomplishments and lack thereof. You don’t have to hate someone to point out flaws in their resume.

My favourite fighter of all-time is Frazier, & I can say I think Tyson probably beats him. So who is lacking objectivity on Tyson here, us? I don’t think so.

What other fighter do you point out flaws on every one of their threads?

The difference is that there is atleast some legitimacy to Tysons losses besides Buster Douglas. People always talk about how the 3 years off from Muhammad Ali damaged him beyond repair, but for some reason, the people that hate on Tyson don't htink it played any signifigance what so ever in his fights with Holyfield ( I don't see him beating Holyfield either way. It probably is the one fighter after thinking about it, Mike can never beat. And it has not to do with headbutts, it is just stylisticly, it is slaughter for Mike because he loves to rest close up,and this is where Evander lvoes to fight)

A Part of me also believes that perhaps Tyson's camp or handlers avoided Heavyweight infighters. Berbick, Smith, Thomas were "Ali-types".

No, I’m afraid I can’t do that. Too many Boxers are total pieces of **** as people for that to impact me. When you’re talking about their career, you have to hone in on that. Same thing with anyone, really. I still enjoy some movies that have involved Kevin Spacey & Roman Polanski, & I still enjoy Tyson’s fights & think he would beat a number of all-time greats in Who Beats Who. But his career is a massive under-achievement.

I have a question for you. Are you as kind to all convicted rapists as you are to Tyson? Maybe I’m not the one lacking some objectivity here.

Don't know what you mean by "people that hate on Tyson", but if you're trying to characterise the discussion on this board it's outright wrong. No one here says he was the same, just that Holy was also past his best. At the time Holy was seen as by far the more past it fighter. He proved that he had more left than most had thought, but he was still old for a 90's fighter, had had multiple hard battles and also battled some kind of disease/ailment whether it was hep or something else.

That is the context that is used, not that Tyson was unaffected by 3 years in prison.

He's fairly ranked for me as well . Actually I dont think he is as all over the map as some others tbh. Tyson is around 9 - 11 for me.

One fight from getting there means you didn’t get there. What’s the confusion?

@Saintpat goes after me. Patty is the kinda bum who’d be be describing the floor for me in a stare off then he’d be describing the ceiling afterwards if he had half the brazen he has here.

I think Tyson's biggest problem was that he achieved too much too quickly and really, at the end of 88, didn't really have much else to prove, he already was a hall of famer by that point as he had unified the title, cleaned out the division and was the youngest heavyweight champion. If it was me, I probably wouldn't care too much if I won or lost as I already achieved a bucket load

Problem is, compare what Ali did after 3 years off to what Tyson wasn’t able to do after 3 years off.

There really is no comparison. Ali overcame it in far greater fashion than Tyson did.
