Hrgovic seems to have a good chin, he should be able to outlast Sanders early assault and then stop Sanders. I really only give Sanders a punchers chance early, like Zhang his stamina was never that good. Also, Hrgovic has a good right hand which is kryptonite for a southpaw and I don't see Sanders chin holding up to too many Hrgovic right hands.
Only way Sanders wins is if he is in good shape which wasn’t common for him. Hrgovic outlasts him after surviving some huge left hands early. Hrgovic UD 12.
I think the Sanders that beat Wlad and gave Vitali hell would beat Hrgovic in a brutal back and forth. I think he actually stops him although I could see Hrgovic dragging it late with his excellent durability and winning by late TKO/rabbit punch.
Sanders is being hugely underrated as a boxer nowadays. The guy wasn't a one trick pony, he could move and jab and in his prime had no stamina problems at all. I'd favour him over Hrgovic tbh. I'd like to see Filip against a more varied field to see how he stacks up.
Good fight, Sanders' style was awkward for everyone, so it would be awkward for Hrgovic as well, it would be interesting to see how Hrgovic would cope against that type of fighter, in the end I would say that Hrgovic would win by a SD.
I really like Corrie but he could be inconsistent. I wish he had taken boxing more seriously. Had huge talent.
100% this. Hrgovic is ridiculously overrated given the only fighter he's ever fought at gatekeeper level or above (Zhang - who himself is unproven but definitely at least gatekeeper level) took him 50/50 and wasn't exactly quick or asking difficult questions besides durability... That's not to say Zhang isn't a good win, even in a 50/50 fight, but you've gotta do more than that to start getting picked against well proven guys who could hang it with legit ATG's (winning some, losing some).
Really haven't seen enough from Hrgovic to pick a winner, if he's anywhere close to his reputation then Hrg comfortably, I just haven't seen anything from him that makes me think he's a great fighter, I know he's got the potential, but seems unable to access it so far
Sanders wins if hes at his best Hrgovic looked very uncomfortable vs Zhang it's just Zhang couldn't follow it up. Sanders is much faster than Zhang and puts punches together alot better. I think if Sanders catches Hrgovic early he finishes him off and doesn't allow him to recover.
Sanders tests that granite chin all night long. Hrgovic is too lazy Sanders would at least have him rocking and hurt momentarily to a UD.
I loved Sanders back in the day and always wondered how good he might have been had he ever taken the sport seriously. He always seemed to have one foot in the ring and one on the links (heard he was a scratch golfer). A dialed in Sanders might very well stop the Croat.
