Definitely not elite. Or we have different understanding what word "elite" means. For me elite is P4P ten fighter, and Sharmba never came close to being top 10 P4P. I think he wasn't even as good as Keith Thurman. Skill level about the same, but Thurman was far more durable and hit much harder
Sharmba was a much better mover and combination puncher than Keith, you're right though he wasn't anywhere near as durable and he wasn't a hitter by any means. Sharmba was talked about in high regard for a number of years. He wasn't even on HBO (he was a Showtime guy) and they were bringing him up constantly (even Merchant's cantankerous old ass). So I'd say he was definitely in the "elite" conversation.
