Wilder is coming off a one sided loss to Parker where he was completely shut out and looked out of ideas. Still he has vowed to fight on although there has been no updates on when we may next see him in the ring. Whyte has just controversially returned to the ring, beating Hammer in 3 rounds in Ireland. These two have a long history of online beef and this is another fight which probably should have happened already. Would this be a fight that makes sense and who would everyone back to win now given their current age, levels of inactivity, and general wear and tear?
I'm well aware of the antagonisms between these two. Whyte has referred to Wilder as a "hillbillie" and worse. Whyte felt he was being ducked by Wilder and denied a WBC title shot. We don't know behind the scenes details, but I'm leaning toward Dillian on that issue. Like most, I think both are past their best. How much is debatable. The big question is what does the older Wilder have left? Then again, Whyte has been KO'd cold 3X, once by a past it Pov. I think it makes sense. I'd like to see it happen. Loser should retire. Another tough one to forecast. At this moment I think it's close to 50-50 unless Deontay is shot. If Wilder fights soon vs. a decent opponent, we should have more info as to make some good odds.
Wilder should either retire, or fight boxers against whom he has made 10 title defenses (except Fury). White wins.
If Wilder can still pull the trigger, Whyte is getting KO'ed. He's old, shot and been knocked out cold 3x, can't be much left of his chin. However, if Wilder can't, Whyte might win on points due to Wilder doing nothing and getting outboxed due to a complete lack of fundamentals.
If this fight were to happen I think there’s a very valid argument for the loser to retire. I would still favour Wilder to spark Whyte out as his slow more plodding nature is made to order for him. Still, that left hook is dangerous and we’ve seen Wilder wobbled and dropped by hooks before. I think it’s an interesting enough fight and both men can slug.
I think with Parker his footwork and control of the range was hell for Wilder. Whyte doesn’t have that same ability and I struggle to see him lasting 12 without being hit with something big. I think the fight would end by stoppage, and I’d probably lean towards Wilder being the one winning by KO.
Whytes nothing too special, but he's got the far better resume and his pressure would always have been hell for Wilder. There's a good reason Wilder always ducked him during his title reign - Whyte would've beaten him and he knew it. I wouldn't mind seeing it - Whyte's declined a fair bit, so there's possibilities both ways.

I wouldn’t mind if either, although I think Whyte would walk into a big shot at some point and get stopped. However he’s still a love dog and we’ve seen Wilder stunned/hurt by big left hooks before which Whyte has in abundance. Out of all the possible comebacks for Wilder this is my favourite one from a rebuilding standpoint.
It's more of an all-or-nothing kind of fight in my eyes... If Wilder stays conscious long enough to land something big he'll knock Whyte out - but would he be? And if he loses, it'll almost certainly be a brutal KO from a nasty left hook - will he want to come back from that? I think it's probably a 50/50 - they're both declined, Whyte moreso but in their primes I'm very confident Whyte would've won (and I'm confident Wilder thought so, too).
While i don't rate Wilder very highly i would favor him in this one. Whyte chin is shattered long time ago, so Wilder at least on paper should be the heavy favorite.
