This. Emanuel trained some big punchers. Michael Moorer, Briggs, Lennox etc. And he NEVER went on about their power like he did about Wlad. Steward was a straight shooter as far as what each of his fighters were good at. He also said Wlad was physically the most gifted heavyweight he ever trained. Haters can ****ing stay hating… but Wlad hit with every bit as much force as Lennox but had the better hand speed which in turn gave him more impact. ESPECIALLY with the left hook. Watch the Ray Austin KO and listen to the sound. NASTY power.
What do expect Steward to say, “yeah my last guy I trained was a better than my new guy and he would have beat him also”. Steward seemed like a great guy but he was a little bitter about Lewis quitting on him. Also, remember if Lewis didn’t stop when he did he would have never trained Wlad.
I agree, Wlad was a very natural gifted athlete, could probably be the most gifted boxer ever and had massive power and strength, but, he could not take a punch. Lennox would have found that chin and KO’d him cold sooner or later.
I personally have always felt Wlad has more raw power than Lennox but doesn’t mean I wouldn’t back Lewis to win in a fight (although it would be dangerous). I think Lennox would have stopped him by the mid rounds after a cagey opening.
Wlad was quicker, more explosive, had better set up, was more accurate, and had better timing than Lennox, but only when he could control the tempo and contours of the fight. And towards the end of his reign his combination punching really went to hell. Lennox was a better all round fighter, and was much better when the chips were down and he was forced to improvise to a certain extent. His combinations were also always quite fluid, and when he sat on shots they seemed to have more concussive impact. Look at how badly he rocked Vitali with a single step in jab. Really rocked him to his boots.
He broke his right hand in that fight and couldn't use it until the adrenaline numbed the pain down. Wlad was basically a white carbon copy of Lewis, with harder punch, weaker chin and worse inside game (if you don't count clinching, in which he was the GOAT).
Well, Sir, I'm 63 next month, so hardly a boy... I calmly stated that Wlad may by the hardets one punch boxer ever, but I am not a fan, simply suggesting. Do you understand that, Sir?
That was not the case at all. Steward said Wlad definitely hit harder than Lewis with both hands and had better balance, but Lewis had much better adoptability during the fights and was more versatile. That's pretty much how it looked for me as well
Lol! I mean… I would say Wlad was way better than Rahman and had a faster, better/sharper right hand. So… What happens when Wlad finds Lewis’s chin?? Lewis wasn’t exactly Wach or Tex Cobb in the chin department. But to each their own! We can respectfully disagree on who would have won that fight Personally I have always found it really odd Lewis felt the urgent need to call up Corrie Sanders (A guy he wasn’t really buddies with) the night before the big upset and basically tell him to go all out and let his hands go to surprise Wlad and score the KO. I mean, WHY not actually hope Wlad won that fight there Lennox???? That way you can earn a quick and ‘easy’ Twenty or Thirty million and take Wlad out yourself??? Lol Wladimir was a way more dangerous fight than washed 35 year old Tyson. And Lewis knew that deep down.
Oh, thanks for mentioning that, now it makes sense that you think that, you’re old as dirt and blind.
Sure, Lennox and an “OFF night” when he fought Rahman and made sure he showed that in the rematch. Lennox averaged both of his losses. How many losses did Wlad avenge? You’re right, Wlad was more dangerous than Tyson, which to be honest was just a money fight, but Vitali was more dangerous than Wlad and it didn’t work out very well for him, did it? Like you said, it’s ok to disagree but we both know you’re wrong and I’m right in who’s winning between Lennox and Wlad
While I too think Lewis beats Wlad by KO, if Rahman and McCall can do it so could have Wlad. We will never know of course but Klitschko had the power to KO Lewis. I don’t think he would have got the chance in the end, I think Lennox would have found his chin by round 5/6 and stopped him.
