The 90,s were the coolest times ever seen because in this decade :

    - the best eurodance music ever was present
    - the cars were the coolest
    - i first time ever got my boner polished

I think AJ is getting a bit underrated. He would be a contender. Old foreman won the belt back then. AJ wouldnt be a journeyman.

Barely survives today nevermind the 90's

Put it on paper THE FACTS in order

    - Gifted a corrupt gold medal, Savon beat him and Camerelle pretty much drew could have gone either way.

-Bought his first belt off a bum named Charles Martin - So you're still not really a legitimate bonifide champion at this point.

-Won vacant belts off a comeback from retirement beaten Wlad who was 41 and almost got killed in that fight

-Knocked over some people (At this point TO HIS CREDIT, you can say he's earned champion in his own right status)

-Then gets chinned fighting on away soil for the first time by a 3 weeks notice fat midget who is the hellspawn of Ronald McDonald and KFC.

-Managed to win a rematch and then boasted about being a 2x champion like it was some sort of achievement to lose the belts then gain them back? As if he was a legit two time champion? which he wasn't because he was doing right a wrong.

    -Chins 50 year old Pulev

-AGAIN loses all the belts that have been handed to him to Oleksandr Usyk an overlooked cruiserweight then has a mental breakdown. Loses the rematch looking pretty much the same whilst Usyk was a little less hot on it.

Franklin, Helenius, Wallin and Francis Nnganou, Knockover jobs and Helenius busted him up with a simple jab.

Now he's back a world beater again? ONE WORD - MANUFACTURED

It would have been hard for him to pick up a title during the 90's era unless it was the then meaningless WBO title. I'd pick him over guys like Tommy Morrison, Michael Bentt and Herbie Hide who held the WBO title.

Maybe he could of beaten Moorer as Moorer didn't have the best chin and could be lazy, but it's unlikely he'd just be given a shot before Moorer lost to Foreman.

He could probably beat old Foreman but again he'd have to be fortunate and have Foreman's team overlook him and pick him when Foreman was at the tail end of his career and needed some very dubious scoring of his fights.

He could beat Bruno when he had the WBC title or McCall who had the title before him.

Even if he does pick up a title he doesn't keep it for long, Lewis, Holyfield, Bowe and even a faded Tyson likely all beat him at their best.

I think he would of been a decent contender, would beat some decent guys but also lose to the very top guys.

You have no idea what a "fact" is.

EDIT Oh, just saw your tag. You swing from the nuts of a guy who lost to a domestic level fighter who has man boobs.

He might survive, have competitive fights and even cop an alphabet belt somewhere
but he would be nowhere near the best. There are a number of guys who would/could
beat him. Lewis, Holyfield, Tua, Tyson not likely........he could beat Byrd or Ruiz maybe
    even Bowe.

I'll give you Lewis and Holyfield, but Tua?? I'd probably favour Bowe over him, though.

The only ones I'd confidently rank above him would be Lewis and early '90s Holyfield. As for anyone else, he likely beats them. Id also give him a chance to beat a mid to late '90s Holyfield.

Doubt that. The 90's was cutthroat, but not so cutthroat to where Joshua would struggle to break spot 10. Being able to survive Klitchsko's punching puts him up there with the most durable of the 90's and he was no slouch when it came to combinations, pre-Ruiz. I'd put him comfortably ahead of most of the division except the 4 kings (Lewis, Tyson, Bowe and Holyfield). Even for them though, none of them beats AJ with ease.

In the 1990's Bruce Seldon, Michael Moorer, Buster Douglas, Frank Bruno and Oliver McCall were WBC, IBF and WBA champions. Do any of you brainiacs think it's possible that the versions of these fighters who were dethroned for these titles might have also succumbed to the lowly Joshua? Let's get a little realism here. Great decade, but there's a reason why people ran everyone down for how they performed against old men from the seventies and eighties during that time period. It wasn't, like any decade, so magical that Joshua would be an objectively assumed nobody in it. No decade like that exists. Sorry.

Yes he would survive, depending on his management (cough Don King cough) get a title, but he's in for a world of tough fights vs Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield, Bowe, Mercer, a rejuvenated Witherspoon in the mid 90s, Tua, ibeabuchi, Byrd and the Klitchkos I don't know if he gets through all of those with many wins.

Favor him over Seldon, Hipp, Moorer (though he may have to get off the canvas for that one), old Tucker, Rahman, Golota, David Izon, Akinwande, Zolkin, Botha, Briggs (IF he gets out of the first couple rounds), Savarese, Mathis Jr.

Not sure about Foreman, I would expect he could beat him but its not a foregone conclusion.
