It's easy not to root for Benavidez. This is a dude that avoided all the champions at 168 waiting for the peydey.

    Huh?
I thought Canelo was the undisputed champion at 168lbs since 2020-2021.

Nobody gonna fight Benevidez if canelo is hovering knocking for
    their belts.
Why would Plant, Saunders etc fight Benevidez over a Canelo “PeyDey”? :ohno

Although I love watching Nelo fight
It’s easier for me to identify with & hence
    root for Benevidez
As he is a more relatable working class dude rather then a A-$ide Silk Pajama wearing Cash Cow. (Good for Nelo)

It seems like the Saudis told Canelo to kick rocks.

Good grief...enough the 'people who dislike" sh*t... That has nothing to do with anything here. LIke I said, every you are pointing to indicates canelo can ONLY fight someone who brings a f*ck ton of money as well. Boxing has NEVER worked like that. There's already plenty of examples in Canelo's own CV. ANd yet, you think asking for 150 - 200 mill is acceptable??? You're stanning big time over canelo's money

These guys are giving Benavidez sh*t for trying for a 'Payday", yet that's EXAXCTLY what Canelo is doing with the Saudis. F'N fanboys....

The Saudis seemingly snubbed Canelo’s request to instead pay Benavidez to fight the winner of Bivol-Beterbiev. By waiting patiently and getting turned down repeatedly by Canelo, Benavidez is now the one in position for a massive payday. Who would’ve thought? Strange how life works out.

This is what boxing is and always has been. It has gotten worse over time and now a guy gets one loss and he is written off and his marketability is crushed. The best fighting the best in their absolute prime is a rarity. Canelo's resume compared to the majority of other boxers is exceptional and actually magnified by the fact he was boxing's cash cow. Fighters lose their hunger for risk it seems when they are getting paid big and thanks to dimwitted fans who seem to think that a single fighter can make a PPV attraction no matter who he fights we get what we see in boxing. Guys like Inoue putting out great stuff but unfortunately will never be a cash cow because of the divisions he fights in. Casuals don't know who he is or anyone he fights which sucks.

I agree Canelo has given us some good fights and some have been tainted by bad scorecards but he really only lost badly to Bivol and Mayweather. I also think it is pretty clear he is ducking Benevidez but I also think Benevidez isn't about being "great" than Canelo is. He could have gone after big names in higher divisions but he didn't.

You mean it's not easy to publicly embezzle a Saudi royal for 200 million dollars? I, for one, am shocked.

Because every thread in this place is about that above all facts or common sense honestly. And what I'm pointing to is if the fight is that high in demand he has a right to ask for the biggest number being floated around, seeing as he's a much bigger deal than Fury. No one was here upset the whole time these north of 100 million rumors were and still are floating around for Fury, why is that? I'm absolutely not stanning over money I don't get but I'm also not hating on anyone for asking for what is attainable. Benavidez's manager who's been spazzing and crying just as much as David and his daddy just did a complete 180 on his position knowing that is what Canelo asked for. He also said he believes he can get that money. This coming from a guy at the table with the money....also suddenly David has shut up. So has his Dad. That's when the fights get made.

I took it as "this is who you should be asking to fight anyway" lol. And ideas of him fighting the winner between the rematch? He's food in their eyes then. That may not be the ringing endorsement some took it as.

I don't remember Tyson Fury publicly demanding 100 million dollars to fight Usyk. How do you think that would've played out here on ESB?

Ask? Benavidez at least had the humility to respectfully ask the Saudis to make the fight. Canelo did not ask; he pulled a number out of his ass, pissed on the idea of fighting DB some more, then arrogantly demanded his price. That's not how fights get made. LOL.

    And it never has been.

    Please go sit down somewhere.

Not all posters are on that . If that's your focus, the fans and you believeing any negativity towards is hating, maybe you need a breaqk form this stuff.

I mean, FFS.... MANY have said this is the best next fight for Canelo, and it's against his logical #1 contender. You keep focusing on money and hurt feelings though.
