Before Mike Tyson the first Peek A Boo heavyweight champions was the incredible Floyd Patterson. Patterson boxed far differently than Tyson, his style more versatile but less focused. He focused on speed instead of power.

Tyson, in a way, was a nuclear version of Floyd Patterson

A singular style not for everyone Jose Torres looked so uncomfortable whenever I watched him fight just mentally disjointed from his style. I think he would’ve had a better career with a different education. I never saw Tyson, Torres and Patterson punch off weaves despite spending a lot of time moving through that motion.

I was a Floyd (Patterson) fangirl when I was a teenager.

I still consider him one of the greatest 20 Heavyweight world champions and considering what he accomplished, as a champion, he was better than Sonny LIston.

certainly not as a fighter but as a champion.

Tyson always moved his head off the center line while punching and had a great pull counter too.

Mike was superior physically, but Floyd had the bigger heart and better fighting mentality.

I don't know how anyone can make this claim. Marciano punched harder. I'm sure there have been others.

Ali had more heart and fighting ability than Floyd.

Maybe but I feel Floyd had more snap, while Marciano was heavy handed and had a clubbing kind of power, he usually landed tons of punches before his opponent wilted.

We never saw Mike Tyson against Sonny Liston, or George Foreman for that matter (which COULD have happened). Both were high quality, with poisonous styles for Peek-a boo fighters. I am NOT saying that I think Floyd Patterson was on the level of Mike Tyson, but I do think Floyd is underrated by some, because of the two Liston fights.
