As a lifelong or most-life-longHolmes fan, I say unto you, sir, without hyperbole or other words that I don't fully understand, that the only men capable of beating Holmes in this entire universe, have already been the ones to have beaten him. And even they didn't necessarily beat him.

Archie Moore from the ill fated title bout against champion Rocky Marciano on Sept 21 1955, Moore dropped Rocky in that bout before being stopped TKO 9.

    You shut your ***** mouth!

Edit: Hey, I'm sorry, that wasn't something I would say to you face-to-face. I apologize, man. That was keyboard rage. I humble myself as a man to apologize, before you.

Actual Light Heavyweights? Maybe Sam Langford would have a shot at that version of Larry Holmes. He certainly had the style to trouble Larry.

Is the BoxRec entry wrong? Serious question. Don't want to be stating incorrect things.

I think he'd put a great effort in and possibly get a decision.

All good mate. On Holyfields page they were both 177 1/2. I reckon what has happened is they've simply billed it as light heavyweight as Holyfield had fought there in the ams and they may have even expected him/them to be under. He wasn't far over 175 for his first four bouts but in reality he never actually fought there in the pro's.

My big strike against Holmes is he never fought ONE southpaw during his entire pro career. I would love to throw him in there with Byrd, Moorer, Corrie Sanders, and Usyk.

I would like to put him in there with a 200lb motivated Qawi. I'm not sure Dwight could beat him, but Qawi is one of my favorite fighters.

If i was stuck to one i'd go Charles. He took a better punch at heavyweight than Spinks IMO and was pretty damn industrious himself.
