I think Fury is turning up like he did in Wilder 2.

Usyk has much better feet than Wilder. Hard to fall in onto Usyk, can't bully them if you can't catch em'. Clinch tactics are going to be a big part of this and Usyk will have prepared for them and will be whining to the ref about it. He isn't going to be able to bump Fury and hit him with a 2 punch combo like that useless bodybuilder AJ though.

You do realise a Fury defeat over Usyk is going against the narrative which I’m all for by the way.

Dempsey vs Willard - Victory of the struggling peasant

Tunney vs Dempsey - Victory of the soldier

Braddock vs Baer - Victory of the struggling peasant

Schmeling vs Louis 1 - Victory for the rising Nazi Germany

Louis vs Schmeling 2 - Victory for a precursor of Allied retaliation

Ali vs Frazier - Victory of the black man vs an Uncle Tom

Ali vs Foreman - Victory of the civilian that says no we’re not fighting a war vs a Yes man

Fury vs Klitschko - Victory of mental health

Ruiz vs Joshua - Victory for Inhabitants from Mexico flooding over the US border

Usyk vs Joshua 1 - Victory for Ukraine

Usyk vs Joshua 2 - Victory for Ukraine

My very loose interpretation of the importance of the World Heavyweight Championship

There is no victory for Ukraine in that proxy war (always was the case from the outset and can be discussed in another thread), So Usyk winning a boxing match to be some sort of motivational? aspirational? win seems kind of irrelevant and kind of sad in the grand scheme of things. A new US president next year could be the turning point for that fight not Usyk beating Fury. I see neither happening.

It’s supposed to be a representation of the times and what will give the populace hope.

A Fury victory against Usyk will definitely be going against the narrative

We know his age is getting up there and time waits for nobody and we all know the amount of boxing he’s done both amateur and pro which was also at the highest levels, then there is also the fact that since moving to Heavyweight he has only fought once a year which also makes me think training camps are not as easy as they were for him, then there was his last fight with Dubois which he did not look imo as sharp as usual. There is no doubt however that Usyk will turn up in the best possible shape he can for Undisputed .

The Wilder 2 condition would imo be the wrong choice. It worked well against Wilder, but Wilder and Usyk are different animals. Usyk moves much better and Fury wont be able to hit him like that.

I see the biggest problem for Usyk if Fury shows up in the Wlad condition, not much more as 250 lbs / 113 kg, and fighting nonstop long from the outside. That would be a huge problem for Usyk to land something on him.
