Zhāng Zhìlěi vs. Deontay Leshun Wilder

I agree with the sentiment.

Championship fights should be over a unique distance to celebrate the occasion.

But now every fight is pretty much 12 rounds.

 

Zhang disaponted me last time.
I dont put my vote on him vs Wilder.
Why?
This is probably fight of 2 hardest punching dudes in whole world. Number 1 and 2.

When 2 punchers fight winner will be probably this boxer who land first. With all technic advantages and better chin Zhang problem in this fight will be that 95 kg Wilder will be 30% quicker than him.
I think with not best defence Wilder might be person who land clean first.
And I guess even with his great chin taking shoots from Wilder cant end well.

Zhang got his chance, he got very, very heavy hands and even Parker when he catch him going down. For sure he can counter Wilder and KO him but with his poor movement and being "smaller man" (Reach and height) he will probably be too slow.

This is hard fight for both but also good opportunity for Wilder to comeback on top.

I root for Zhang but I think Wilder will be too quick and too focus on this one.

For how old he is and how bad his gas tank is, he still knocked Parker down twice and pushed him all the way to a narrow majority decision

Whereas Wilder is totally done. If he was scared to throw against light-punching Parker, he’ll be terrified of throwing against Big Bang Zhang

Besides the Parker defeat, another thing Zhang and Wilder have in common is the inability to handle Italian slickness. One was outclassed, while the other was pulverized.

Here it will be who lands first. The Alabama Slama or CHINESE POWAH!

 

Looks good on paper but I think this will be a stinker with hardly anything thrown

Zhāng is probably the best style match for Wilder of all top level heavyweights currently but how much has he got left. Very hard to call.

 

A big dumb fight to get big dumb boxing fans who should know better excited. Utter sportswashing at its most vulgar, between two heavies at the very end of their relevance who people only want to see fight because even now they can both punch an aircraft carrier unconscious.

I can't wait! This is the fight on the card I'll be most excited for. I'll take Wilder to win, maybe put money on it too, but it's the ultimate pick'em.

 

I think Zhang knocks Wilder down early, nearly has him out on his feet, but Wilder miraculously survives, Zhang starts gassing big time, and Wilder suddenly turns it around in the mid rounds and knocks an exhausted Zhang out.

 

Parker beat Zhang too and I'm sure if Wilder beats Zhang the cries will be 'but Zhang was shot, Parker beat him.'

 

I'm favouring Wilder. Zhang ate an awful lot of right hands from Hrgovic and we all know Wilder has a deadly right hand if he can land it and with Zhang's slow feet, I can see him giving the Wilder the time and space to land it.

But anything could happen. Maybe Zhang sets a trap and lands first with one of his counters before Wilder, who can be a slow starter if pushed back early, lands his right. Maybe Zhang eats Wilder's right hands like he did vs Hrgovic and keep coming and eventually catches Wilder.

But yeah if Wilder's power was ever truly legit at this level then he KO's Zhang.

 

If Zhang can come in close to 270 he will savagely KO Wilder. No way will Wilder take the punches Parker did. Wilder’s Glass Jaw will crumble.

 

Wilders leg looked shot vs parker, like he was never really capable of planting himself long enough to unload. Now zhang is a much bigger slower target to explode on but if he plays his cards right and keeps wilder under the right kind of pressure he could get to him first

 

This has the be the biggest puncher Wilder has ever fought by a large margin.

Wilder will be even more shot this time than he was with Parker. Being shot is a slippery downward slope, remember.


My prediction?. Zhang does a total demolition job on Wilder, very early doors.
