There were rumblings of Hearns fighting Czyz in 1994 after Hearns demolished Dan Ward. It would have been a great fight, one that would have produced fireworks. Who wins?

Even in 1994 Hearns destroys him if Czyz couldn't get past Prince Charles Williams jab Hearns will eat him alive at range.

I don’t know. Freddie Delgado very nearly had Tommy in 1994 and Bobby Czyz lost to the obscure David Izeguire that very same year. If the match took place even just a couple years earlier I’d make Hearns a very heavy favorite but at this junction? It’s hard to gauge which one had more left

Both were well past it, but I think I'd go with Hearns here. Czyz looked gassed and just completely beaten by Izegwire that year after 4 rounds. Hearns would probably land enough right hands to make Czyz quit on his stool. Not sure how willing Czyz was to gut out a tough fight at that point in his career.

There were rumblings of these two fighting way before 1994 IIRC. They both had Light-Heavyweight belts in 1987, and I believe Czyz was calling for the fight at the time. There was never a time where I would have favored Czyz though.

Czyz could not win big fights. Hearns would have beaten him easy. Yes Hearns could be chinny but Czyz would not be able to pull that off.

In the 80s, Bobby wanted no part of any of the "big four". Even in 1994 I'd still go with Hearns.

I think Tommy would win by late round TKO. Czyz was too open for Tommy's sharp punches. Czyz always wanted Tommy like many guys wanted that name on their records as Tommy got older. But if Czyz could not beat Hill or Andries whom Hearns beat how could he claim he could beat Hearns or that he deserved the fight?

Tommy puts Bobby to sleep, when and where ever they fight.

I have Tommy winning. Big shame this fight didn't happen, would have made Tommy the first boxer to win world titles in six divisions. A welterweight becoming cruiserweight champion lol

Here i am the biggest Hearns fan, but at that stage Hearns went life and death with Freddy Delgado, and I mean life and death. Czyz injured his back at home, I think he got hit by a car in his drive way or something. He said his back froze up against David Izegwire and he could hardly move. So that wasn't the real Bobby in that fight. Delgado was 19-2 (18) ko's at 175lbs. He was stopped in the first round and 2nd round both of his losses, one to Michael Moorer and the other to Charles Williams. Delgado was a heavy handed crude brawler. Could his ultra aggressive style have fared better against this nearly shot version of Hearns than Bobby's slightly less aggressive but much more technical style? I think Bobby could have defeated Delgado myself, he was far better. But who knows, Bobby was better than Andries but lost to him. I think the fight between Hearns and Czyz was scrapped after Hearns shaky performance vs Delgado. I really wanted to see this fight, and a win for Hearns at that stage of his career would have been spectacular, especially if it was for his 6th world title. Hearns would have had to have been better prepared than he was for the Delgado fight. If he was well prepared for a long hard fight, then I would say Hearns by decision.

Hearns was mostly used up at this point. His power was no longer a factor against elite competition. Bobby made the ill advised venture into the heavy class but actually gave Vander some trouble before his back gave out. I would slightly favor Tommy but this is much closer than folks here are suggesting.

    Right.

Hearns-Czyz probably looks like Hearns-Duran, and ends in two, except the punches come slower ... but still land.

Bobby had a great chin and could punch. He also seemed to know in his heart that he could hurt Tommy. This guy started his career at 160lbs and later became a175lb champ then after that a legit Cruiserweight champ. He completely took apart Donny Lalond who gave Ray Leonard a tough outing. Czyz was always a threat to some degree to Hearns with his Good power tough chin, good skills and self belief.

Yehh had Tommy won, it would have only further made his resume the 2nd best imo amongst the 4 Kings in terms of accomplishments.
