Mike McCallum had a few of these. In his fight with Carl Jones, he dropped Jones with a low blow, and referee Larry O'Connell ruled it a standard knockdown. Against Said Skouma almost ten years before, he also landed a hard shot below the belt, this one correctly identified as such by Richard Ramirez, who gave Skouma time to recover but didn't take a point from McCallum. Most blatantly, he blasted Michael Watson after the bell twice in a span of three rounds, but Ramirez (ref for this one as well) let him off with just a warning.
Here's Shoji Oguma throwing Chan-hee Park around like a sack of crap. Notice how referee Larry Nadayag picks Park up and warns him for holding onto Oguma. This was actually a really dirty fight from Oguma all around. This is the first fight between Jose Napoles and Armando Muniz. With his title starting to fly away Napoles resorted to a low blow campaign that his store-bought referee Ramon Berumen wouldn't acknowledge. I lost count on all the low blows in the 11th (which begins here at 34:35 of the vid) but Muniz' body language is one for the books. Besides visibly seeing him complain to the suddenly deaf referee, he is resorting to trying to hold Napoles arms in clinches as Napoles is trying to pummel his twins. Muniz even is lifting his leg trying to ward off the blows while the referee is silent. Watch Muniz as the round ends with an exasperated look as he is clutching his nads. Disgarceful! I once asked Muniz why he didn't return the favor and he said, "Because Berumen was waiting for me to do that so he could disqualify me." This content is protected
And I saw it too because @Dynamicpuncher posted a thread about this Lewis fight; I just remembered. I'm not as knowledgeable about boxing as you think I am, but I've improved with this forum.
Gomez hitting & spitting Zarate while he was down. And if that's not bad enough, his fans also kept Zarate up all night.
This one always sticks out. Blatant low blows. No point deductions whatsoever. Even called one low blow a knockdown. A disgraceful display of refereeing. This content is protected
Considering it was Perez I'm suprised he got warned at all. Maybe this was a time when Perez still gave a rats ###
That almost sounds like Rocky Balboa instead of Rocky Marciano. When I read that I could hear Mickey in my mind yelling: "GIT 'IM, ROCK! NO MOISSEY"
