The Ali win in the FOTC eclipses any singular win Foreman ever had. Sure, H2H Frazier was destroyed but you could also argue that Joe destroyed fighters George gave a berth to like Quarry.

Well are we debating whether Frazier was pound-for-pound a better fighter or that he achieved more career-wise than Foreman?

Interestingly (& unlike a lot of people), I consider Quarry a live underdog vs Foreman.

I don't think there's an argument that Frazier accomplished more in his career, if I'm being honest. I do think there's a P4P argument though. The 205 pound Frazier that decision Ali was IMO one of the finest fighting machines the ring has ever seen around 200 pounds. I don't think he was ever quite the same after that bout, that was his Mount Everest. Not to mention he spent time in the hospital after the fight because of how grueling it was.

I would of loved to of seen Foreman against Quarry. I think George has said he didn't particularly fancy fighting Quarry. Not sure if it should be taken with a grain of salt, Foreman is pretty complimentary of other fighters.

Foreman was only about 220 in his prime, though. Frazier, around 205. I believe their weights in ’73 on fight night were virtually identical. Even allowing for maybe a 20lb margin - at most - it’s hard for me to imagine Frazier beating Foreman if they were pound-for-pound equals. I mean Frazier was perhaps the more complete fighter, if that’s what you mean. Complete doesn’t always translate to winner, however. Agreed Foreman accomplished more, too.

Foreman is very complimentary but although I would certainly favour him to beat Quarry, it wouldn’t be the foregone conclusion many would expect.

Foreman was not in his physical prime at 24 ... he was developing into a very strong 230 pounder by the time he lost to Young ... he may have been the largest, strongest 230 pounder I've ever sen as well ... Foreman was a physical adonis who if he had the mental maturity of the later George may have been close to unbeatable ...

He never weighed 230 during his prime years. Granted, he probably could have, but fact is he didn’t.
