Shakur Stevenson will beat Devin Haney any day of the week

    Haney is a good boxer and I think he’s on the same level as shakur I wouldn’t say that shakur wins based off Garcia fight neither of them have the power to earn Garcia’s respect, shakur would have been brutalized the same way Saturday night

    Being a Boxing junkie, I would attempt to watch.
    Unlike the 2 fighters competing,
    I likely won’t be conscious to see / hear the final bell.

    Styles make fights. Shakur doesn't have the size or power to make Haney worried. If Haney's confidence hasn't been shattered yet I could still see him giving Shakur some fits, especially if he boxes like he did against Prograis (a southpaw like Shakur). But that really comes down to how much Haney has recovered mentally speaking.

    Good post. Stevenson, while considerably more refined and technically sound, doesn't possess Garcia's sheer physicality or explosive, one punch power.

    I think Haney's jab, arguably the best tool in his arsenal, would be his most effective weapon against Shakur, and it might steal rounds and allow him to maintain contact and fight at range. Whatever one thinks of Stevenson, he's elusive as hell and hard to hit flush with anything meaningful.

    The big question, at least to me, is how offensive-minded Stevenson would be. On balance, he's got better punch variety and a better inside game, but neither will count for much if he doesn't let his hands go.

    I like Stevenson by decision, but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion.

    Based on the footage of their sparring I'd confidently pick Stevenson to comfortably out point Haney.

    Haney slips to the right most of the time, which is why Garcia's left hook found a home time and again and in the sparring between Stevenson and Haney, Stevenson quickly figures this out, using his jab and feints to make Haney slip to his right and Stevenson knowing his head is almost always going to the same side found it easy to land his rear hand.

    I would pay money not to see that fight. Underwhelmed with Haney ever since Linares hurt him and he ran and held for 5 rounds.

    For a 16 year old, Haney actually put in some really nice work that session. That left hook at 4:04 was something awful.

    Hard to even fathom, but Haney seems like the bigger puncher of the two.
