Born during the struggles of the Civil War, Buffer has been the voice of boxing for centuries but in recent times he has become a bumbling mess.

Last night he misread the weight by a whopping 10lb, by all accounts the foot sized font he requires when reading out a cue is no longer adequate. How long will it be before him and Joe Biden can speak fluently together in gibberish?

I'm all for traditions but is it time for a replacement announcer or could they do some RoboCop **** on Buffer, build him in to an android and reprogram him?

Yes, he's been shot to bits for years but he's still the best of the bunch.

Everyone keeps talking about the weight thing but nobody is mentioning how he, twice, referred to Fury as the current Ring magazine champion.

He’s been amazing throughout the years. Age is kind to no one. Anyone know why he hasn’t retired?

He was distracted by all the Arab women....too stressful to wonder what they look like under their shrouds.

What's there to retire from. It is possibly the easiest job in the world. Literally just stating the blatant obvious facts like name, weight and hometown of the fighter whilst making millions. No analysis or insight. All expenses paid, put up in the finest hotels. Who would give that gig up?

His job is literally a holiday.

For someone almost 80 he is still exceptionally handsome and looks fit. He has a dream job. More power to him.

He has been past his prime for a very long time now. But his voice is still there, which is quite something.
