You are quite right, everyone I've spoken to thinks the flight schedule of former One Direction megastar Harry Styles is the key to this fight. Will he fly into JFK when he arrives in New York next month? Could he opt for LaGuardia? Is there a chance he could fly direct to Singapore for his concert next month or will he use the well established connecting flight from Dubai? The ramifications are incalculable, and it's truly mouth watering to contemplate. Ok, ok, I know it was an auto correct bodge job...but, that aside, you are right about styles making fights and even though I've said Fury is overrated etc...I have a small bet on that he wins by k.o in round 8. Crazy, I know.
Listen, Footwork. They say that all of us are naked 'neath our clothes. And all of our clothes are the armor which protects our skin, as our skin protects our vital organs. But what you discuss is that of the plane of Harry Styles. This leads us to the philosophical pair of ducks known as Styles' ship. If all of the parts are replaced, is it still the same ship? And, once more, and further beyond, if you went out and scavenged and scrounged and...foundulated, all of the parts which had been replaced and built another plane out of it, which one is really more the real Styles aeroplane? Is music your own personal aeroplane? It is mine. But maybe that's just me and you're just you and we are like two airships, passing, eternally, in the night, betwixt morning and passion, the rage and the river. But, again, that's just me.
I failed the comma class in school. I don't really know where to put them and I just hope no one notices.
Wlad hasn't lost a decision for over 15+ years and was the dominant heavyweight of that era and had the second longest reign of any heavyweight only behind Joe Louis, Wilder is the 10th longest reigning heavyweight. So those wins are legit!
Both fighters are great and I can see both men winning. Fury is the natural bigger man and he definitely know how to use that advantage with legal or illegal tactics like a veteran should do! He also has a great jab which he should be using to make Usyk move as much as possible. Fury wants to get Usyk the ropes and use his size advantage to drain him and slow him down with bodyshots and clinching. If he is sucessful in that I can see Fury knocking him out later on or win a decision. Usyk is the better technical fighter and has a stance that has bothered Fury in the past but it also takes a lot more energy for a little guy to move around. If Usyk can keep up a high enough pace and avoid getting to the ropes and getting hit to the body I think he has a chance of either knocking Fury out late or win a decision. But the real winners are us, the fans for sure! I wish for a great night of boxing!
Wlad is a good win - it was a stinkout of a fight, Wlad didn't look 100% either, but it was still a very good win... That was 8.5 years ago. A retirement ago. A massive coke binge ago. Wilder... Long run, but super super protected - fought primarily third and fourth rate fighters, best win is a 40+ year old on heart meds who hadn't achieved anything noteworthy even in his prime. Fury's best performance by far of that trilogy was over 4 years ago. Fury won whilst horribly overweight and unfit in #3 (and arguably in #1) - that says a lot about how good Wilder wasn't. Fury has shown flashes of being a very good fighter - between long periods of either inactivity or fighting trash. The big question here is whether he can beat the guy who always looks elite. Ironic that Usyk is the one they call "the cat" when Fury's 0 seems to have nine lives
Fury's best win was questionable. Yes, he won, but it was not the boxing masterclass that the nutsuckers keep reporting. Wlad looked terrible and was unable to pull the trigger on his right hand. When he started throwing it in the 11th it was causing Fury a lot of problems. Then Fury ducks the rematch, tests positive for PEDs, comes back and fights the human windmill Bumsquad Wilder, and surprise surprise, he wins but then fights him two more times. In the meantime he ducks AJ like a real beyatch, talking the talk but never walking the walk. He doesn't have a great win. He has spectacular wins but so do Gatti and Ward. If Fury vs Usyk is officiated fairly and the judges are objective, there will only be one result, Usyk UD. I can see Fury trying to use his size to tire Usyk out by hugging, something that was pointless against Ngannou due to his strength and wrestling background, obviously the ref should be stopping this and deducting points but that is not a consistently judged facet of boxing. However if they fight on the inside, it will favour Usyk who is smaller. Alternatively Fury will go for the nutshots and if not managed by the ref, low blows could be a problem. Boxing at range will very quickly show Fury's nuthuggers how he goes against a true boxer.
If Fury wins wait for Usyk to "just being a Cruiserweight". You'll never please some people and they'll always have a new excuse. Sad really...
I also believe Harry Styles flight schedule is the key to victory, but, I'm afraid, the existential dread I felt whilst reading this comment has left me unable to converse in a coherent manner and I'll shall be lying in a darkened room until I regain my composure.
I think anyone not blinded by hatred now knows how good he is or at least was. The question is more about whether he still is. Ngannou fight could have been a Wallin-like blip where he just didn't train or get himself up for it. As has often been the case. Otherwise though, it could be indication that he is over the hill. We won't really know until tonight. I am backing him to achieve greatness though, once again
Seems a bit unfair. While I don’t completely disagree with the points raised, Wlad was still the best in the division, and Fury fought him at seemingly the earliest opportunity. On the flip side, a prime Wlad beats the breaks off of Fury. Secondly, yes Wilder is overrated, but he’s still one of this generations top heavyweights. How Fury went about his business with Wilder was impressive. Though I suspected a top heavyweight would give Wilder fits. Then you’ve got the likes of Whyte, Chisora etc. These are respectable wins. There is obviously the real negatives. Popping dirty for PED use. Struggling against Wallin. Struggling against an MMA fighter. Arguably losing to McDermott. Part of his allure would seem to be his enigmatic nature in the ring. It would not surprise me if Fury wins comfortably tonight with a glossy performance. It also wouldn’t surprise me if he stinks the place out, with the highlight being Fury punching himself in the face.
Usyk is the most overrated fighter of the decade. I am no fan of Fury but I think he wins this. Joshua was a bum and he lost a close fight against Usyk.
