Damn, what an impressive display from Briedis, especially for the last 3 rounds. Had the decade younger reigning champion on the run, never lost his power it seems. Almost turned it around.

Breidis is very strong. Very tough. Jai ran the last half of the fight.

9-3 type for Jai most likely.

I didn’t expect the end. I thought Jai would play it safe. He opened up and got caught and almost stopped.

And also bearing in mind that Briedis was dealing with ring rust from being out the ring 2 years. If he had had a tune-up in the interim, he could have actually snatched a close decision tonight.

If only breidis could have turned up the heat a few rounds earlier

If Briedis wasn't so rusty he could have won this.

7-5 Jai. I gave the 3rd to Briedis.

No, just no, that was a swansong, a fine one at that.

I don't think he was unmotivated, he was always a methodical relatively low output fighter who was looking to counter, watch his fight against Huck for example.

For a 39y/o coming off a 2 year layoff that was a great effort from Briedis.

A shame Briedis was so inactive as he was well on top in the those last 3 rounds. But he did nothing for the first 7 rounds.
