Had it been stopped at rd 9, there'd be nonstop debate on whether it's an early stoppage for a HW championship fight with all the belts on the line. You stop the fight to save amateurs still on their feet from serious injury like Conor Mcgregor but not a HW champ who's still on his feet.

Could’ve been stopped for sure. He was probably seconds away from being so. Rewind some years back to the first Wilder fight, could’ve just been easily been called out then…he was a single solitary second away. This is boxing. It’s why we love it.

You don't stop a lineal champion famed for his powers of recovery in a fight for the undisputed title in that situation. Stopped him in the Wilder fight would have been a lot more legitimate and we're all glad he didn't. Context matters.

I wouldve been okay with a stoppage but Fury is like Marquez, they are known for recuperating quick so the refs probably take that into account.
