Maybe to some little extent, but being a local fighter probably plays a bigger role in my opinion where people would support you and unfortunately are blind... but I doubt it had to do with beating a Mexican, because a good prospect Alex De Jesus also defeated a Mexican in a very impressive way with good boxing skills, but no one seems to talk about that one and hes a bigger name in the island itself... As for the Margartio/Cotto everyone respects two warriors esp. when both are very humble... surprisingly everyone has taken this defeat pretty well and have become bigger fans of cotto esp. the way he has carried himself out...
wow I remember watching that ko , but damn from watching this ko again and then to being the first Latino heavyweight champ:deal is hard to believe
Besides the Tua fight Ruiz did have a solid chin, it just comes to show how big of a puncher Tua was.
i dont think so... i had chavez easily winning the fight...sure it got tough for the last 3 rounds, but remember, there were still 7 before that one :good
Tua caught him off guard, he wasn't expecting to be swarmed right off the bell. It would never happen again, and has never even come close to happening again. What the "shame" is, that guys like that hate ruiz so much they resort to pasting the same 2 clips over and over in an effort to discredit him. What's funny is it's the only clip they have of the former belt holder getting knocked out. I can think of plenty of fighters held in higher regard that have been dropped more times than Ruiz.
El Gatito Vargas comes to mind, five times in twelve rounds.....:yep Like to see him post that video.....:yep
Papo, I got to tell you bro, your avatar sure makes my day, Im in Iraq "esmayao" and everytime I look at your avatar, it makes me realize that I need to go back,
