I am not here to argue with casuals about something I know. I am here to chat with grown intelligent people who watched boxing for years and understand the sport. If somebody thinks that Tyson Fury or Usyk are world class heavyweigts then clearly they have just started watching boxing or are just to biased for me to waste my time with, Bye bye.
Your standards for "world class" are pretty high. If fighting for all of the World titles is not world class, I have no idea what would be.
I don't know... The Ukraine comment was classless - but it hits deep. At it's heart is an allegation of bias at best and corruption at worst - that sits very badly when the official cards are on the generous side for Fury as it is. That said, he won't have known that straight after the fight - his corner, and particularly his dad, were telling him he was doing well... But that's why you don't go full ******. It'll be interesting to see what he says once he's had time to process and watch it back for himself... What made Wilder so bad was the prolonged excuses after the fact.
You can say what you want about this era but at the end of the day, tyson is a modern great, usyk an all time great
Sadly a loss in the post Mayweather era means you are a shithouse and everything you have done, achieved means Jack. The winner takes everything in this sport and the loser gets nothing apart from a pay day. Fury felt he was undefeatable and would go through his career without ever being defeated. He even stated in past interviews that when he loses, he will retire immediately because it will show that he was never good enough. Given Furys deluded, in denial comments ie I thought I won the fight, they gave him the victory because of the war in his country, the judges and the boxing industry conspired against me, I don't think he gets back from this. Someone also needs to remind Fury that he has also received his share of gifts in boxing as well ie the first John McDermott fight, the first Wilder fight as most reffees would have called the fight off after the second knock down and being allowed to continue with that cut against Wallin.
100%. It was a brilliant fight high level fight, between 2 exceptional talented fighters, the fight was engrossing and swung back and forth. Fantastic advert for boxing. Both fighters showed up and brought their A game. Fights like this are what makes boxing great.
Fury didn't steamroll 39 years old Klitschko. He ran like a little girl for twelve rounds and flicked his jab just enough to win. It was one of the worst heavyweight title fights in history. Fury won but it's not some shining moment in boxing history.
Tyson Fury has just boxed at the highest possible level for the highest possible honours in boxing, and just lost by a couple of points, to one of the greatest fighters ever in Oleksandr Usyk in a swinging back and forth brilliant fight. There really is no shame, anyone whos says different needs to be ignored.
This is an educated well informed balanced opinion. Sadly I am already seeing the likes of Chisora, David Haye and a few other fighters really sticking it to Fury with this defeat. Tbf Furys post fight comments are not helping his cause. Can Fury now deal with his fellow boxers, fans and reporters who have now turned on him? Can he handle the fact that he is not the best fighter in the world? Even if the answers to the above questions are Yes and mentally he is okay, his indisciplined lifestyle and the fact he's taken on so much punishment in his career, there will be a physical toll. I think we have seen the last of Fury, he's made his money and cannot do any better now.
Maybe, but I certainly would never write Tyson Fury off, Maybe this makes him super disciplined, motivated and locked in for the rematch.
Massive respect to both before the fight and nothing has changed post fight, other than me underestimating usyk and overrating fury Good fight between to tough boxers i wanted Fury to win because i picked him, But usyk is the man, can't hate that guy
