I don't know who Golata is but I know who Golota is. Also Bowe was finished by the time he faced Golota. Bowe was a much better fighter than Chisora and Usyk could barely beat a faded Chisora. Bowe was better than Joshua and didn't run in fear because he got hit like Joshau does.

Holyfield threw tons of bombs at Bowe and Bowe kept coming. Holyfiled is a much better fighter than Usyk will ever be.

A real top 175 lber (10% bf or less) can compete with some heavyweights too. Beterbiev would cause a lot of trouble at heavyweight i'm convinced.

One thing to remember, especially at Heavyweight, is that additional weight affects ease of movement, fluidity and stamina. Fury carrying all that extra weight compared to Usyk didn't help him in the later stages of the match. Usyk was in far better physical condition than Fury, he was more fit. Of course Fury does have physical advantages, height, reach, and even hand speed, but he doesn't have the fluidity of footwork at his age. In his younger days, Fury moved around the ring a lot quicker, and his slower feet at this stage in his career led to him getting stuck on the ropes and hurt. On the other hand, especially at Heavywieght, being short and compact has its advantages. Tyson weighed about 220 lbs in his prime, similar to what Usyk weighed against Fury.

By the way, the announced weight of Usyk at the weigh in was incorrect. It was not 233 lbs as was announced, but rather was 223 lbs, similar to Tyson's weight in his prime.

You can cherry pick all you want. Usyk struggled with Chisora. The same Chisora that David Haye destroyed 10 years before.

Also Tubbs was better than Usyk lol. Tubbs was a natural heavyweight. While Usyk had to come up to be heavyweight. Tubbs also had drub problems throughout his career but Tubbs as his best would easily beat Usyk down.

When Usyk gets in the ring with anybody and lands higher than 30 percent of his punches then get back with me on him beating Larry Holmes.

When Usyk actually gets in the ring with a half way decent heavyweight get back with me. He beat Joshua a slow robotic body builder who got knock knocked out by overweight Andy Ruiz and then Usyk beat Tyson Fury, a drugged out overweight hype job who is still iiving off beating a 40 year old Wlad 8 years ago and didn't even look impressive doing it.

Larry Holmes beating Tim Witherspoon is more impressive than anything Usyk has ever done as a pro, more impressive than anything Tyson Fury has sone as a pro. Riddick Bowe beating Holyfield is more impressive than anything Usyk will ever do in his lifetime as a boxer.

Cmon man Witherspoon ? You're so critical but Witherspoon was just a top 10 contender he was good but he isn't better than Fury.

find it hard to include Kabayel, Hrgovic, Zhang in any discussion about this generation as non of them have been in championship title contention or championship fights interim at best. So to include them is more than generous, they have had literally zero impact on this generation.
Their only relevance is that they’re all still active.
    Just my two cents though

Frazier would tear Vitali to shreds in an actual phone booth or a close range/inside boxing match.

If Vitali is allowed to use the rest of the ring and move around, that's a different conversation.

Ali may be a similar size to Usyk, but Ali fought WAY more like FURY than he did Usyk.

Usyk has the style required to be a giant killer. Ali does not.

These golden era HW nuts need to just take a deep breath and go back to the classic forum.

i always knew that whole nonsense about fighters from the past not being able to compete with the size of todays hw was just that, nonsense. and i said it was just a matter of time before a fighter came along and proved it was nonsense. to be fair, i didn't think it would be usyk at first, but he proved it just as easily as anyone else that could have come along. usyk is not superman, he is just a complete fighter fighting at elite level. and thats enough to go through all the mediocrity in the hw division of today.

I did answer on the poll to "no", because I always felt that way. So the Usyk win didnt change my opinion about that subject.

I actually think guys who are over 6'4" / 194 cm are getting more and more trouble to be coordinated, but also having a good stamina. Lewis and Bowe were already freakes of nature.

When it comes to close to the 2 meter mark (6'6/7") the Klitschko brothers were exceptions, AJ of course too, but to be honest AJ and Wlad have stamina problems, only Wlad was good in hide it since he rarelay fought guys who could push him over along distance, same with Vitali. He was never really tested about stamina, only against Lewis and Sanders he had to go 100% for 6 rounds, then it was a TKO due cut against Lewis, and Sanders was out of stamina as always.

I dont know how much stamina the Klitschko's have after 7-8 rounds when they are forced to go 100% all the time. Wlad had much time to recover in the AJ fight, since AJ needed round 6, 7, 8 and 9 to recover from the knockdown, so Wlad was able to go his pace.

Wilder seems to be like a guy with almost no stamina problems, but he is very thin. So it explains it. Not many muscles and oxygen problems.

    So or so:

I think it was Mike Tyson who once said: "In the firs 7-8 rounds, the modern fighters [Klitschko etc] would be the favorite against the old school fighters. But if it goes to the rounds 12-15, the old guys [Frazier, Marciano, M. Bear, Johnson, etc] would take them out."

Maybe it would be like that.

Of course we will never see it, but since Lewis had such a long reach and skill, he could control the pace of his fights for most of the time. Holyfield tried to push him to the limit, but even he wasnt able to do it for the full 36 minutes. I dont know how much stamina Lewis would have against someone who would push him to 100% for 8-9 rounds or so without giving him a break to breath.

Buttom line: Since human beings are getting taller and taller, I dont think we will ever see 15 round fights in championship fights, even if I would like that very much. Someone like Kabayel would like that too I think.
