Johnny is not wrong. Tyson been allowed to get away with far too much. And alienating his last few supporters. Not to mention his dad who should have been arrested after his behavior. How many on this forum alone have said "I used to like Fury"

He lost me as a fan when he started calling Usyk (a proper respectable guy) an ugly, gappy toothed ******* etc.

Vile and not funny smack talk in the slightest.

I think Johnny has some selective criticism of thugs.
There are genuine thug star boxers in the UK he approves of.
For instance there are ones with pasts as drug-dealer street thugs who now try to intimidate highschool kids on PR tours, or ones who have real brawls with bottles and tripods at press conferences in Germany ...
I'd consider that more thuggish then some WWE trash talking.
Maybe Johnny needs to look up the word thug in his Oxford dictionary to get a better understanding of the term.
Or he could look up the term 'hypocrite'.

This is boxing, a sport where you beat the hell out of each other. Don't expect gentlemen or educated people. Most of the participants have no other ways of making a significant living.

You don't need to be a gentlemen to be a decent human being.

Yep just because you box it means you lack any intelligence. Then you realize that isn't the case. Most boxers are intelligent and don't act like thugs. For the most part that isn't what people want to see so these guys don't get marketed.

Big difference from how someone behaved in their past and how they act in the present....especially once they are widely accepted as some kind of a role model. Utmost respect for anyone who turns their life around....just as I done!! Should I always refer to myself as this or that cos of my behaviour 20-30 years ago....or do we concentrate on how I have made amends for my past by giving back and sharing my experiences in the hope that others may learn from it?

Except the only difference between prize fighting and criminal assault is precisely prize fighters behaving like responsible adults.

You've hit the nail on the head. This is a brutal sport and people want to see that carried on outside of the ring as well. Joshua was always accused of being too nice a guy. The Klitschko brothers were called boring despite having a very high knockout percentage. Mike Tyson is equally famous for his thuggish personality along with his boxing style.
