Hard fight !! I haven't seen either take so much punishment all through there careers. This will have shortened carriers of both fighters . A unexpected war . What do think happens next ?
I think there may well be a retirement or two this year. Whether it’s after the proposed rematch I don’t know…I think Fury holds the key to this. We all know the lad loves to announce his retirement when we least expect it. Except this time it might not be a major surprise. I’d like to see the rematch then both quit. I’ve changed my mind about Usyk in this regard now. A couple of days ago I said on this site to Hotep that I’d like to see Usyk make a couple more defences…as well as the rematch if he’s successful…but the more I’m thinking about it the less I’m liking the idea. He isn’t going to improve over the next couple of years as he approaches his 40s, and may well even decline. Age has a habit of doing that to us all. Watching the once great but now diminished Usyk in 2025/26, struggling to asset himself over some of these gigantic but limited titans is not something that appeals to me.
